Thanks so VERY much for showing this!! It was one of my FAVORITE TV shows when I was a kid!! OH...how I WISH they would bring all the good old shows back again!! The stuff on TV today...politely....STINKS!!
For my sister, who saw the movie when it came out, Erroyl Flynn is Robin Hood. My first exposure to Robin Hood was THE ADVENTURES OF SHERWOOD FOREST, and for me Richard Green will always be the best Robin Hood.
I haven't seen a complete episode in more than 40 years. Thanks for putting it on.
The BBC has gone PC and fills all its programs with feminist bull, including Robin Hood. This great old program is still good. I love the fact that there is no need to pour buckets of blood over everyone everytime a fight happens. Todays movies and programs remind me of a slaughter house.
52 years and it doesn't miss a beat. What a treat ! For all its wit and talented young performers the new BBC series runs a poor second. Sometimes you just get things right the first time.
Personally, I think "runs a poor second" is putting it nicely. After "Prince of Thieves", I thought there would never be a worse or less charismatic actor playing Robin Hood. Jonas Armstrong proved me wrong.
There are three classic Robin Hoods - this, the Errol Flynn movie, and Robin of Sherwood. The current BBC series doesn't even bear comparison to Prince of Thieves, and that wasn't great.
This was from the first season of the original prime-time edition of the series, sponsored "tonight" by The Wildroot Company for "Wildroot Cream-Oil" {Johnson & Johnson was the "alternate sponsor"}, with Sandy Becker announcing for Wildroot!

Please get the title right. It's "The Jongleur," and Richard Greene's name has an "e" at the end.

The first TV programme series I ever saw was Robin Hood - first timer in 1955!!! It's great to have those memories of a 5 year old restored.
