@headgalskit401 Tobacco use, for many, is far more than a "habit". It's an addiction, as strong as that to heroin or cocaine, according to many medical authorities. And .. nicotine itself has benefits. It can be used against the onset of Alzheimer's, for Parkinson's, for ADHD. It improves alertness and an reaction time -- which is why major league baseball players chew tobacco! It's thebyproducts of combustion that do the major damage. Nicotine is not a demon drug.
A question Bob, are you legally allowed to use your E-cigarette in non smoking areas? I've never used an E-cigarette, snus is my preferred method, but they are easier to procure than Swedish snus.
@Kalimata101 Frankly, it's legal in some places and not others. Always, it's up to a business owner. E-smoking, now called vaping by many, is NOT smoking. There is no smoke, no combustion. It's the APPEARANCE that freaks many people out. Some e-cigs look like real cigarettes, have a tip that glows red, and then the user exhales what appears to be smoke. Freaks some people out -- and they want these banned everywhere.
Hey TB! Great vid. as always. The only other real way to use tobacco to its fullest would be to use the marijuana vaporizers like those used by glaucoma patients. This would, indeed, produce all that of which we are accustomed when smoking cigarettes without the combustion. I'd like to give what you've done here a try myself to see the difference.
Hi Bob - your chemist here, as we've discussed, I wouldn't say isolating the complete spread of akaloids from tobacco into an e-liquid is as safe as a nic only e-liquid. Some of these alks are probably not "good" things to be getting. The benefit comes from harm-reduction... vaping a few dozen compounds to get the few dozen compounds our bodies want instead of vaping 4000 compounds to get a few dozen compounds our bodies want. A 10 minute video is a challenging forum in which to present this!
@iwnert1000 Is the method of extraction from tobacco something a hobbyist could perform? If not how would I go about approaching a Chemist to perform this task for me?
@Nicotinejuice No. It's difficult, technical work. Our hope is that some liquid manufacturer will see profit in producing whole-tobacco-alkaloid liquid. But too much is unknown now about the future legality of e-smoking for anyone to make a large financial investment in such a thing.
I am not sre if i agree with your assessment. Although the body needs other chemicals to feel totally satisfied, these chemicals are the ones that do the damage and yes they are carcinogenic to the lungs even if not burned. Also high nicotine level liquids do create satisfaction that lasts after the initial inhale anyway, without the extra tobacco alkaloids. I thinkk that more research is needed before you can say that your method is as safe as standard electronic cigarettes.
I don't claim this as safe as a standard e-cig with nic-only liquid. I do consider it many measures safer than inhaling cigarette smoke, so it furthers harm reduction. We must differ on the degree of hazard posed by most of the tobacco alkaloids. We do agree that more research is needed to find the most effective liquid for vaporizing in e-cigs. P.S. I've used them for two years come January.
@BespokeGroupUK No one has claimed WTA liquid would be as safe as present liquid containing only nicotine. Many have posted that they are not satisfied with today's e-liquids -- me among them. We would welcome WTA if it provided the satisfaction of tobacco smoking. Much, yes, there are many unknowns. Keep in mind that's it's tar particulates that most often trigger lung cancer. Nicotine does not. E-smoking does not produce tars, even when whole-tobacco-alkaloid liquid is vaporized.
What about bypassing this unuseful habit, u can save a lot of health, and a lot of money.
