How patronising. I'm happy that these people are feeling better about themselves, but the underlying premise that god can bring about these turnarounds is misguided. Most of our transformations come from totally secular factors: getting better by going to the doctor, recovering from drink problems by going to AA, regaining self-confidence by talking to our friends. None of this requires a belief in god, or is conditional on surrendering your mind to some made-up, unprovable holy spirit. Terrible
