  • GOOD - sound -cool - power - echo cristal -

  • D WUEVOSSSSSSSSS

  • I would sell my soul to Satan to have this guys hair. Beautiful !!!

  • great song..was he a fan of Glenn Hughes??

  • I love him but he was dancing like one of the girls, i couldn't tell him apart. Awesome song though

  • Have this one on vinyl - superb :-)

  • Serious classic from 1987, remember this very, very well! Remember recording it off David 'Kid' Jenson chart show on a Sunday afternoon in 1987 and still have the tape!

  • the short part from 3:07 to 3:10 is used for "Domino Day" TV commercials.

i didn't know that it is a complete song.

  • Who do you think would win this "hair weight" contest?(and remember, they'd be entered at the point in their respective careers when their hair was at its largest)--Steve Tyler,Gino Vannelli,or Robbie Nevil?I'd say Vannelli, for sheer carbon levels and density--if you're talkin' volume,I figure it'd be Nevil.

  • @tone143 definitely Vanelli

  • Awesome voice!

Pity about his music clips as they do NOTHING to show his talent!

    CM

  • Robbie hit #14 in Billboard, 4-25-87. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • Great follow-up to "C'est la Vie" and I think a better song in many ways, extremely well-produced, very thickly layered. You try singing that chorus sometime...

    Thanks for posting.

  • you rocked it on this one robbie!

  • Bellissiama canzone,grande Robbie Nevil... :-)

  • Robbie, I remember when you took a break from working at Marjan's Restaurant in Brentwood with my husband -and the "Beach Fellowship on Sundays"- to play your guitar and sing to me for the first time on the bluff's of Santa Monica. You were maybe 18-19!!!! The music you wrote in your teens was better than anything on radio at the time. I knew you were unique, mega talented, and would be very successful. I played this cassette till it broke back in the day. Still want you to sing for God!!

  • @cybertroll2011 lol i wonder if dominoes ever used this song in an ad?

  • Well, "look who's alone tonight" might have been my favorite.....maybe 2nd best. Hard to say, both were brilliant.

  • I always liked this one the best. Really captured his vocal urgency....wish I had hair that thick now....lol. Did back then.

  • OMG!!! I have been looking for this song for ever!!! noit heard it since the 80s! Thanks so much for uploading....what fab hair he has on the vid :D

  • No joke...Robbie NeVil does the music scoring for, "That's So Raven." A close friend of mine worked with him in production...

  • this brings back memories. thanks for uploading and uplifiting.

  • Robbie will return I believe in him

  • @TheBlazinInfernape soon please!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where has Mr. Nevil gone? It's like he had that one good year,1987, and then he was gone. Mr. Nevil, where art thou?

  • Thanks.

  • One of Mr. Nevil's best songs.

  • 80 90 su Magic era una delle mie trasmissioni favorite!

  • I always loved his hair. But, I will say this. He didn't age well. But, I do love this song more than his big hit.

  • @jayman869 He's a little chubby now, but he still had the hair.

  • @jayman869 definitely my favourite !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This has to be one of the classiest songs from the truely classy decade of the 1980's.

  • Simply the best!

  • This video is very campy, right? I like it :)

  • @jonathanmrussell I know right.

  • I was a 13-year-old girl when this came out- and how badly did I want to have hair like his....

  • So beautiful and love the song!!!!

  • Because once a singer/band/songwriter puts their music out their and has a fan base on YouTube, those fans are going to check it out regardless of what genre it is. They won't be limited to singing at difference charity/fundraising things where they sing something country instead of rock and the like. If you get what I mean.

  • However I think that YouTube is the biggest "Big Record Company" out their. They will always be around, perhaps. But anybody who can get a view on youtube can get their music out their for the world to see & hear. So I firmly believe that Richard Marx is way ahead of the rest because as a producer he has worked with many genra's of music. I truely believe we will see more musicians crossing the border & singing other types of genre. They won't be labeled just as pop, rock, blues, soul, country etc

  • Some times artists burn out..They may be touring too much or just not promoted right..He has plenty of charisma and he did have a great style..But some of his songs later songs did not have enough of a hook..It looks like he was burnt out some how..Sorry guys..

  • @milesblt That may be so. You would have to check out a Wiki on him. I had heard Richard Marx was chosen over him. My main man, so I am not sorry about that if it is true. He apparently could not get enough promo time, or any big record company to invest in taking a chance on him. When that happens good talent can be over looked and only surface if they get a "big break". Just like Buddy Miller in the trenches for 20 years until he backed up Ex-Led Zep's Robert Plant. Love his guitar playing.

  • Only hit #14- craziness but 1987 was one of the best years for music too many good songs

  • wow,i havent seen this clip in years! he really had an excellent voice.wonder why he only had two or three hits?

  • He is the man behind alot of the Hannah Montana songs for the show. I love this whole album and I miss this music.

  • @ladyredlight3 Is he behind the lyrics or behind the vocals? Glad he's still around creating music.

  • @theart1rm he wrote the theme song and alot of the music for the show

  • @ladyredlight3 Thank you. I will check out the theme song because it is his work. I have never watched Hanna Montana and an not a fan, but I do appreciate his talent. So I will check the theme song out. Thanks again.

  • Someone mentioned something about him being not promoted enough, that they chose Richard Marx's over him. I don't know if that is true or not. I am a Marx-a-holic. He is my number one singer of all time. From watching some of the vid's here of Robbie's it doesn't seem like he has a particular style. Certainly doesn't have the appeal and charmisa of Richard. But I agree he has talent. Sometimes the talent just doesn't mix with the music they sing. But I love this song. Showcases his potential.

  • Thank goodness. I have been trying to find this for 8-9 months. I couldn't remember his name, and dominos seems to hit the Fat's Dominos, Dominos Pizza. So I decided if I seach all the pages it might come to light and it did. Thank you so much for posting. I have this on VHR in storage, which doesn't do me any good now. So once again thank you for posting

  • Always actually liked this one more than C'est La Vie and Wot's It To Ya. Wasn't nearly as big a hit, though......................go figure.

  • Great song. One of the most underated artists of the '80s....if you ask me that is....

  • Hit #14 in Billboard. God bless!

  • 555

  • AWESOME ! ! !

  • LOVE THE SONG!!!!!

  • Good song, but he's a bit camp!

  • this song charted pretty good in spring of 1987

  • great song. i miss the 80's. music sucks now....

  • dominoes is one of the best pop song make in 1987....

  • I'd forgotten about this song until I heard it last night. I had to try and hear it again on You Tube. Thank you for sharing the video.

  • Wow I remember this! Totally forgot about it until now. Great post!! Thanks.

  • This is a great song. It's too bad it's been so forgotten.

  • @ganubby

It is a highly underrated song, but I don't like it any less. It's still a good listen.

  • Hey guys; wtf? This is about the song, not about you; the song is a beautiful song and Nevil did a great job; now, can we just stop this bullshit about black or white, who sings better, who sings worse, the UK vs US; AND Christina Aguilera??? WTF? Damned!

  • I heard this in the grocery store this morning. Havent heard it in years.

  • Hit #14 in Billboard.

  • I remember being a kid and watching "Kids Incorporated" pull off a terrible, horrible, hideous, rendition of this song...lol

  • Just heard this song early this morning at my local Safeway store. Did some toe tapping in the frozen pizza aisle. lol I wasn't sure if they were actually saying "Dominos," but I guess they were! :-)

  • Dang, who knew Kenny G had such an awesome voice?! I love this song!

  • @ JHatch65 : Kenny G??? lol

  • man i could not believe back ib the day when ce lavie come out that it would out sell this song by millions..yes ce lavie was a great song but dominoes was so much better...and it actually didnt have alotta badaxx competition when it was out...it should have done better...this song still rocks today!!!!

  • First time hearing this song, he's got an excellent voice (if really his) but feminine ass dude, and the sistas (yes, SISTAS) in the background also rockin it!

  • Just like MTV back in the '80's. When you listen to this song on just audio you can clearly tell the background voices are of mostly Black women, but MTV uses White women in this video. Good things have changed since then. I forgot all about this song until I heard it in a grocery store the other day.

  • I remember when I first heard this song and bought it to play at a party. Yeah, back then it was considered to be crossover music. The color issue? Well just look at it this way. It is America's desire to continue to write her same self-centered history. The black and white issue isn't a factor in Europe as much as it is in the states! Color is used as a buffer or a go between ya know, it's like a fight of the poor and uneducated! Travel the world and you'll see for yourself. Right on the music!

  • bull shit - color is more of an issue in europe.

I am british and live in USA now- so sorry, USA is inclusive- they value takent and hard work, colour doe snot come into it. Not like UK

  • Yes you are soooo right, my mistake! I am black and thanks for the insight on the mental issues on COLOUR? Ha, as much as I have been through as being black I wouldn't have it any other way not at this period in history. Damn, the colour of a persons skin Must mean more than is being told by the world. I am using my colour as a great advantage this moment in history. If black wasn't something great then why does the world continue to condemn those of colour. Better black than not ya ask me!

  • Once upon a time there was a world where people of colour were treated so bad and God got tired of this. Being long on patience and love for mankind God decided to do what the world wanted more than anything; God separated the blacks from the white. Now without the people of colour being the main focus of folks denying the truth the rest of the non'colour people began to fight among themselves. Blackness is blamed for everything but baby ya ain't seen the act of God getting things straight here!

  • No sorry - they are probably not black.

Look at Christina Aguerla..... strong voice...

  • raccoon: I recognize that strong voices come in all colors. However, the black voice has a distinctive sound aside from just being strong. Blacks have a unique voice that is easily recognizable. And Christina Aguilera is just one lone example you gave.

  • Friend, I respectfully disagree on both of your points.

Race is an ugly blemish in both the UK and in USA, and luckily, it is fading. However, in USA, the complications of money and power distort the unfairness of race even more than UK. If you are dark-skinned AND poor, you're lower than a dog, but if you have a ton of cash, you can be blacker than Seal and still be widely praised.

2nd Point: Dude, Christina Aguilera does NOT sound black. She sounds like a white "cross over" artist.

  • I can't believe the radio ONLY plays C'est' Levie(however u spell it)meanwhile songs like this one are left on the backburner collecting dust...UGH!:(

  • @skingerskanger

Me either. I like this one so much better. I heard it on XM last Friday night.

  • @skingerskanger, C'est La Vie

  • i loved his music at the time. now seeing the video, i think he might be a front man.. like milli vanilli or the dude is a girl now. no one else sees this? that's what i see. any axxhole comments, stick it up your axx. i'm just saying.

  • neville wrote the songs, played guitar on them and SANG on them...he is no Milli Vanelli ripoff Neville is for real and one of the best singers in the world.

  • j'adore...

    très sexy cette chanson

  • I was nuts about Robbie Nevil and his great music. Still love him... and the 80s did rock.

  • me too - love the hair, the voice, very talented guy, still working even at 50, so underrated..

  • @bmrocks59 I love his hair too don't know what it is but I can't stop watching these videos love his voice love his music

  • @ spitts63....that's because you have an compulsive obsession....you need treatment...go to the shrink...

  • this song should be one of those songs that we still hear on the radio, damn I love this song...

  • me too!!!!!!!! but now thanks to you Paolo Nutini is right up there with robbie, different sound but amazing singer!!!!

  • great song!I loved that so much & still so I do.I used to play it on my taperecorder even 10 times a day when I was aged about 12 or 13.Thanx for uploading.

  • I had a great time dancing to this 12 inch...extended version for those under 40 :0) This song rocked back then

  • C est la vie was the big hit for Robbie, but this song i like better. it rocks!

  • I can't believe this guy now writes all those awful songs in High School Musical and all the other craptacular Disney TV movies.

  • Yes, this was his best song. Great to hear it again after all these years . UP THE CHERRIES

  • I'm listening this song since 20 years

  • ...much better than his first hit. Almost as good as his hair.

  • love that hair, almost as much as Pete Burns' hair in "Something in My House" video...

  • How 'bout Sinead's Celtic Kiwi doo?

Just kidding! I know you like Robbie. I'm partial to the gals myself, particularly the one with that little stopper-looking thingy on her head.

    ;-)

  • lol.. ya i'm crazy about Robbie and the OLD Pete Burns...

  • @earcandy2008 - this was my very favourite... just love the beat and yeah his hair is awesome!!!!!!

  • @earcandy2008 Those were definitely the days of the big hair. He's got to much. Needs to cut some of it off or tame it. It's wilder than this video. Song is great. Glad he is at least still active doing things with Disney. Hear he wrote most of the songs for Hanna Montana. Never was a fan of HM, but Robbie had talent for sure, just not enough of the right kind of songs to showcase his talent. Just my opinion.

  • It's funny. I completey has an image of this footage as the video for "C'est La Vie". But the minute I watched this and heard the song -- it all came back to me! LOL!

  • i forgot all about this song damn good song

  • This album was nearly perfect: Robbie at his most energetic, Alex Sadkin at his peak before his too, too soon death, and the pinnacle of a choreographic-directorial style of music video making that more or less disappeared by 1988 or 1989. And this was the sleeper hit that gets under your skin deeper than "C'est la Vie". Brilliance.

  • I wouldn't say perfect, but it was a decent album and I quite liked it. Young Robbie was a pretty boy back then, he made cool videos with lots of VERY hot women in....then he's never heard of again. Shame.

For some good 80's nostalgia, check out Laura Branigan - Self Control, and that video, cracking disco outfits.

  • Well, "A Place Like This", his second album, starts out with that debut feel with "Somebody Like You" (in the spirit of "Simple Life (Mambo Luv Thang)") and "Back on Holiday" (in the spirit of "C'est La Vie), but from "Mary Lou" onward, the absence of Alex Sadkin is poignant and glaring. His 1991 album was less hopeful. I gave it one listen, and that was enough. The debut marked a rare convergence of talent, energy, and stylistic aesthetics.

  • So well said, PARACHUTECLUBBED. You hit it all on the head. Alex Sadkin's absence was felt here and beyond.

  • I grew up on Laura Branigan. "Self Control" captured a "nocturnal essence" like this did. So did Marilyn Martin's "Night Moves". Branigan, of course, paid homage to Phantom of the Opera's popularity then by making it erotically captivating.

Usage of tungsten-balanced film is what gave these "night" videos that cool, steely, bluish feel. I miss that. Go see 'til tuesday's "What About Love", "Dead or Alive's "Brand New Lover" and especially Device's "Hanging on a Heart Attack". All 1986.

  • Never knew that before, PARACHUTECLUBBED! And wasn't "Night Moves" the greatest video? It was here, but was taken down... I need to check for that one again!

  • Now that we're on the subject, I'll add four more from 1986 to this blue group:

    1) Genesis - "Tonight Tonight Tonight"

    2) Kim Wilde - "You Keep Me Hanging On"

    3) The Fixx - "Secret Separation"

    4) Mr. Mister - "Is It Love" (the conceptual night scenes)

  • do you know the name of that mulatto girl playing on drums in his other videos, also to be seen here? she looks fantastic.

  • Brie Howard, i think..

  • yes you right. I have figured it out already, but anyway thanks a lot for your help!

  • @KowalskyLeon ... Her name is Bree Howard.

  • Love this song!

  • Wow, Rebecca Ferrati is in this video! I'd totally forgotten; she was totally my teenage fantasy woman in the `80s! DAMN!!

  • my dad showed this song to me, and now i love it!!! :D itz like the "emo" of back when ever this came out... lols

  • That's an apt way of looking at it!

  • LOL i used to love this song back in theday. now he writes for Hannah Montana how weird is that?

  • Robbie's debut cassette is one of my favorite cassettes of the 80s. Now I'll have to dig it out of my artifacts & listen to it.

  • Awesome!

  • Never mind him being good looking in his hair!

He made 3 wonderful albums. Period!

I am (curently) looking him up to see what he is up to right now. (I am patheticly late, I know).

But he had got something good going on with his songs and songwriting.

    Don't You agree!?

    Sweden

  • well agree on that, but still love the hair, can't help myself, i also noted he has his own business- he helps young artists get record deals or something to that effect, wish he was still recording though,

  • just can't get enough of this song..

  • haven't heard this song in ages! WOW, forget how much i love this guy's music! keep rockin Robbie!

  • Robbie is rockin' that tambourine!! LOL

  • I absolutely love this song and video...Robbie has this "Jim Morrison" thing about him ( with extra hair) and the enthusiastic girls are just perfect with the vocals!

  • Takes me back to my old high school days. Back in the old dsys of vinyl. Good song

  • enjoyed the time trip, love the song.

  • Overshadowed by C'Est La Vie. Every bit as good.

  • Robbie looks like the lead guitarist for the metal band Testament , Alex Skolnick

  • The lady in the this video she looks like my former lady boss....

  • God does this bring the good times back fantastic!!! i have als0 been looking up Phobe snow absoloute magic have a look folks see what you think/

  • too much hair Robbie. even for the 80s this was a bit much. I am sure he is mortally embarrassed by this video.

of course since I am going bald already I am a bit jealous. but hey

  • I love this song. I remember when video shows came on and this one played all the time.

  • wicked tune!!!

  • love dis song!

  • The best song by Robbie

  • C'est La Vie was considered his best. I agree with you that this was his best effort.

  • robbienevil*com/pages/directory.html

  • He is feminen,You are right but You Shouldnt look at those years with 2000's eyes.

Rebember 1980's Who was the masculine ? Am i right ? Dont understand me wrong,im not judge you, only my opinion.

  • I loved this album in the 80s, though it was bit uneven. Alex Sadkin (RIP) was a great producer; he produced for Thompson Twins and Duran Duran. But I had no idea Robbie wrote for Hannah Montana and High School Musical!!! ICK ICK ICK!!! Officially a sell out - you have to make a living I guess - but making money off of tween girls!

  • Love this song so much, never get tired of listening to this!!-Remember this from the 80's..I love 80's music a lot!!

  • :) oh thank god i'm not the only one, just found it while looking up his other song, forgot how much i loved this one! i must have listened at least 60 times in the last 2 days, wish he was still doing music for himself... love that hair and his voice, so sexy!

  • really, no one else thinks this dude is gay but me? I love his music dont get me wrong, but he is so femme.

  • i think he's gorgeous! not gay,

  • Comment removed

  • You should really check out the Arthur Baker original 12" remix of this song. It freakin rocks! I really should post it - out of print

  • I got a CD album of him from 1991 called DAY 1and I got it off Ebay for £4

  • how is it, i just got one from amazon and am waiting for it to arrive.

  • Its actualy not a bad album, not as good as this one, I just need to get his 2nd one now, anyone know how many albums Robbie has done.

  • 3, Place Like This, Robbie Nevil and Day 1. and Greatest Hits

  • i think that is my favourite, just love every song on it... he sounds like so many different artists - prince, richard marx, stevie wonder, simply amazing and so talented!

  • could this guy be any more feminine?

  • You are jealous! He is so FINE!

  • YES i WISH i COULD BE THAT FEMININE

  • you're damn Right! i never thought he was so hot, but now that i look at him again... rrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Isn't he gorgeous! never thought so before but now that i've "rediscovered" this song, just love him! don't see any photos of him now though, wonder what he's doing besides hannah, high school musical, married? single?

  • and your point is????
