  • also, Kellogg's was a sponsor as well..i have an episode with the Kellogg's closing.....if i can upload it properly, i will:)

  • MeTV regularly runs an old Hunts Catsup commercial with the MTS cast. I notice that nowadays Hunts calls it "ketchup" and no longer "catsup"!

  • Also, the Toni Company (White Rain Shampoo, Tame Creme Rinse, et al) was a sponsor for a few years in the late 60's)

  • Catch MacMurray in a western movie called "Day of the Bad Man." Excellent.

  • ROFLMAO!!!!! Ohhh damn, that John Ritter comedy movie about an evil cable company still kills me "MY THREE SONS OF BITCHES"

  • my bd was in 64,but my earliest possible tv memories include this.

  • I love my three sons and am looking forward to future seasons coming out on DVD. Hope the commercials for hunts are included as extras on the discs. Thanks for posting this. Three cheers for classic TV and for youtube!

  • If anyone has any other My Three Sons openings (especially from '69-72), please post them!

  • Hunt-Wesson began sponsoring the series in its final season on ABC (after Chevrolet dropped the show in order to sponsor "BEWITCHED" in its original time period in the fall of '64). When the show moved to CBS in the fall of '65, Hunt-Wesson went with them, and continued their primary sponsorship until (at least) 1971.

  • @fromthesidelines Lever Brothers, a manufacturer of health & beauty and home cleaning products (brand names of Dove & Lifebuoy soaps, Lux and Sunlight dishwashing liquid, Wisk laundry detergent) was also a sponsor of "My Three Sons" in its CBS run.

I recall Fred MacMurray, in some episodes' intros, announcing the Lever Bros. sponsorship of the program.

  • and don't forget the scary Hunt-Wesson Foods hw leaf logo!

  • thank you and that was a bit intimidating..lucky that the products are good:)

  • you're right, that hw leaf logo WAS scary!

  • Chevy was the sponsor for the first four seasons, the closing credits would have pictures of Chevy's in the background!

  • oh, was the credits shown with an outside view of a chevrolet?

  • yes

  • Yes, Chevy had the sponsorship and provided cars til '64, then Pontiac from '64 to '71 (1970 models were the last seen on the show), and then Ford picked up the last '71-72 season and provided cars to the Douglas clan.
