@guidlines mate watch the fight again and u will see that broadhurst copped at least 3 good right hooks from bowden before he was headbutted. i still dont know why so many people stick up for broadhurst when he actually king hit bowden in the scrum and couldnt match the big newtown front rowers killer instinct. broadhurst was out of puff and headbutt or not would have lost the fight. watch it a couple more times and see what im talking about

@bradshaw419 Yes Newtown or should I say Steve Bowden won the fight and Newtown shot off to a 13-0 lead against a shell shocked Manly and went on to win the game. Tom Raudonikis mentions in the Fibros v Silvertails doco that West used these same tactics against Manly. I remember being pretty disgusted after this game but still ended up going to the 1981 Grand Final and supporting Newtown over Parramatta. Financial pressures forced the team out of the NSWRL Premiership at the end of 1983.

The most overhyped blue in league history, only because TV caught Bowden`s headbutt. Anyway, who gives a stuff. I`m a Cronulla fan but anyone who boos Manly these days is a boofhead. They`re premiers but hardly billionaires.
