I just got through watching the third series of Dr. Who and am waiting for the fourth one to get to me. I love Martha, but I miss Rose, even though she dind't do it for me. I am not sure why that is. Anyway, the Master as Anya was funny, but I hope there is a remake with Donna as Anya. I can see that more.

Matt Smith is okay, but I do not regard him as on a par with the nine and ten. Sorry, but I still stand by my assessment of too young.

The Doctor is supposed to be a father or grandfather figure. Stewart-Head is the right age and personality or perhaps David Morrissey, who had appeared in the New Doctor episode.

@mad8london247 Well, it seems to me that they're trying to change the father-figure image. For better or worse. I would guess it doesn't appeal to as a wide an audience as the quirky attractive action hero that they're making the Doctor into.

Though, I do agree his age makes a lot of what we previously thought of as the Doctors social role much more confusing.

Wouldn't have stopped them. Several companions have played other characters before being cast as regulars.

Martha Jones/Freema Agyeman played a cousin that was killed in Torchwood One.

Amy Pond/Karen Gilan was a seeress before.

It would have been interesting if they had cast Stewart-Head as the Doctor. Questions could ensue on why he unconsciously chose the visage of an adversary...lol
