ever since this show came out i always said, "finally another show with some balls!!!!" i like to go behind the scenes and see how they made this. i once heard the the original boardwalk was 8 miles long or something (correct me if im wrong here) if i could i would watch this show everyday. not that i dont understant it, its because of the music, culture, way of life, the clothes, the cars, and the authenticity of everything. if i had the money i would be auditioning for a part in this show :)
Location is the Brooklyn side of Newtown Creek and the East River, directly across from E23rd Street in Manhattan. It is surrounded on two sides by stacked cargo containers that have "blue screen" applied to them so the background in the show can be matted in. The camera used in the time lapse is shooting out of a portal cut in one of the containers.
Google Earth Franklin and Clay Streets, Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
True Story: Once when I was telemarketing for a Chiropractic Care center, we had jacked up leads and we sometimes called celebrities...one time we called Goldie Hawn, and my first celebrity I called was none other than Mr Pink/Nucky Thompson himself Steve Mutha fuckin Buschemi bitches!!!! I thought it was a prank til I heard his voice...I was like OH MAN! Mr Pink...and he was nice and kinda chuckled and was like yup...then I apologized and wished him a nice day!
Terence Winter, David Chase's right hand man on The Sopranos and writer of so many masterpiece episodes working with Martin Scorsese. Expectations must be through the roof for this show. Hope it delivers.
Simple explanation. Because New York offers all kinds of tax credits and incentives to encourage movie and television production. Atlantic City offers a box of salt water taffy and a chance to have the mayor berate you for not employing more people of color.
Is it still there? They were not on the Boardwalk that much in season 2.
