I rememebr reading the newpaper article about LJ coming to UNLV and how good he was. We won the championship and he went #1 too bad he hurt his back that messed hiscareer up totally!
Larry was a great player and great person too!! He was a leader, he was a father for the nicks, withoit injures the career of Larry perhaps will was increidible!!! Larry has a great hustle, a great fight and great sacrifice for this team an her fans!!
Thats team: LJ, Sprewell, Houston, Camby, Ewing, Oakley... Was the last great team of NEW YORK!!
The nicks of today nedeed a players like LJ, Sprewell ( One of my favourites player for ever!
the actual nba needs more LJ. Very good vid... only too much NY oriented :P. The best LJ was in the hornets (as skills, not as hard work). Ward-Houston-Spree-LJ-Ewing were great knicks
The roar of the Garden will only be heard again when the teeth come back. Love to the 93-94 and 1999 knicks. You guys gave it your all, and New York remembers.
man who played with alot of heart and passion. lost his explosiveness and jumping ability due to back problems, but was still the man. he was truly the backbone and leader of those knicks teams of the later half of the 90s
And don't forget he was arguebly the most popular PF of the early to mid-90's(next to maybe Barkley). LJ and Shaq were both newcomers that even rivaled Michael Jordan's popularity in the mid-90's. And of course LJ probably has the most famous 4-point play in B-Ball history.
I can´t help it, everytime a watch a video of the 1994 or 1999 knick my tears come out, because those teams were more like a brotherhood. they won together, they lose together. Ewing, Oakley, Smith, Mason, Derek Harper, Starks, L. Johnson, Camby, Childs, Houston, Sprewell and Charlie Ward, you will be always in truly ny knicks´ fans' hearts
A Bad Back robbed him of being one of the great players of all time. At UNLV where i watched him game in and game out he was so utterly dominant..it was insane. He was always the best player on the court and everybody knew it.
Funny how everyone misses the good ol' days, but if you remember, people hated the knicks back in the mid 90's. They felt they slowed down the game with all that hand checking and in your face defense. But you never miss the water until the well runs dry. So yeah, those were the glory days even though we didn't quite appreciate it then.
Larry Johnson was one a kind.Recently i watch old nba playoffs game Knicks-Heat 1997-2000.THose days people were playing and competing in the court.Nowadays its only a bussines and boring basketball.Good old days..LJ,Barkley,Rodman,Olajuwon,MJ,Pippen,Mourning ...
Great Video, I miss those knicks so much. You should send this video to MSG and have Dolan & Company show the players just what playing with haert means.
Bring back oakley, ewing,LJ,starks, mason, anthony, spreewell,Houston. as old as they are now they would still win more games and if not you know they were trying.
How can you have a LJ tribute with no Hornets highlights???? If it were not for his back, he would have been as good as Barkley! If not better. Still like it though, I loved LJ
Man LJ was my hero, back then , as i was a knick fan, still a knick fan during their tough times. Even modeled my game after him when i played back in elementary and highschool.
Brings tears to my eyes. Dolan has ruined my Knicks, that BASTARD! The Knicks used to be MEN, now they are nothing but punks. We miss you Big LJ, Oak, Starks, Mase, Ew, Spree ... TRUE KNICKS.
i remember watching that game and calling the 3pt play for johnson ... but that team was great to watch with houston sprewell childs camby ward and ofcourse johnson... too bad about ewing he would key against the spurs
i agree.. I really miss the days when teams played with true grit and heart! ill always be a die hard knick fan.. hopefully they will be good one day..
PF but alrounder...aaah damn back injury. By the way, nice vid but I remember better scenes from him, also already when he was at UNLV or Charlotte...LJ only time I was fan of somethin'
its funny, i bet every one who says that larry johnson's career went to shit when he went to the knicks is a charlotte hornets fans. he stepped up bigtime when the knicks went to the playoffs. These hornets fans r jealous b/c with larry johnson and mugsy they couldn't be half the team the knicks were in the 90's even without LJ. The heart of the city throughout the 90's was at MSG.
1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror saying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after.

the reason that happend was because he was a 6'5 guard...that was forced to play small forward and power forward toward the end of his career...aka he got his career shitted on when he got traded to the knicks....
Amazing how LJ transformed his game from being a dominant inside scorer to being a Big L symbol flashing perimeter player with NO hops at the end of his career
this music is pretty weak. even though i'm a knicks fan, and lj was the heart of those late 90s teams, it would have been alright to include some hornets highlights, he was really a beast back then.

He's been my youth icon. Here in Italy nobody knew who Larry Johnson was; all the nba addicted kids in italy had jordan shirts and supported bulls or lakers. I was the only one carrying the hornets #2 jersey, converse aero jam #2 shoes (white ones), hornets baseball hat when he was in Charlotte. I went to see him play in Bologna against the Buckler Bologna back in 1994. So sad when saw him sitting in the bench with injured leg, anyway the hornets won the game 114-107
I'm Larry Johnson's biggest fan and I think this video is one of the best ever!! I have the largest L J collection in the world and have followed him for the past 17 years. I miss watching him out there on the court giving 110% all the time..ONE of the all time NBA greats in my mind!
I just thought of a great new YouTube feature - make all the music tracks mutable so we can actually enjoy the video and the sounds that actually belong to it.
i'll never forget that 4 point play against indiana in the playoffs, one knock on LJ when he came to the knicks was that he couldn't play defense well, well he proved a lot of people wrong
Brought a tear to my eye. Truely tragic about his injuries. The OG Runnin' Rebel high flyer who helped pave the way for big time above the rim players like Shawn Marion, VC, Artest. LJ will surely be missed by all his fans. We appreciate the games he gave us.
I rememebr reading the newpaper article about LJ coming to UNLV and how good he was. We won the championship and he went #1 too bad he hurt his back that messed hiscareer up totally!

i'll never forget that 4 point play against indiana in the playoffs, one knock on LJ when he came to the knicks was that he couldn't play defense well, well he proved a lot of people wrong

He had an incredible dunk in the dunk constest too. It was like a windmil 360.

Brought a tear to my eye. Truely tragic about his injuries. The OG Runnin' Rebel high flyer who helped pave the way for big time above the rim players like Shawn Marion, VC, Artest. LJ will surely be missed by all his fans. We appreciate the games he gave us.

His best years were in Charlotte. It's unfortunate that his back prevented him from being a truly great player.
