  • I rememebr reading the newpaper article about LJ coming to UNLV and how good he was. We won the championship and he went #1 too bad he hurt his back that messed hiscareer up totally!

  • Ha I'm from Chicago, so I was never a fan of the Knicks!!! But I do admit that the Bulls Knicks rivalry of the 90's was the best in the NBA.

  • LJ was at his best with the hornets. he was a role player by time he got to knicks thats why he was traded there

  • Geez...why all the Knick highlites....his career was dead by then.

  • the song fucking ruined the video why wud u pick it dumbass

  • This song sounds sad or nostalgic. It would've been great if the footage included some of his years at Charlotte.

  • Funny as hell. LJ was a power forward but all this video has is his 3pt shots.

  • If it wasnt for his back, LJ would have been one of the greatest, he still is in my eyes, LJ for life.

  • Larry was a great player and great person too!! He was a leader, he was a father for the nicks, withoit injures the career of Larry perhaps will was increidible!!! Larry has a great hustle, a great fight and great sacrifice for this team an her fans!!

Thats team: LJ, Sprewell, Houston, Camby, Ewing, Oakley... Was the last great team of NEW YORK!!

The nicks of today nedeed a players like LJ, Sprewell ( One of my favourites player for ever!

  • wtf's up with the music

  • he really had to develop that outside shot after his back problems. his real strength was his power post up moves when he was young

  • the actual nba needs more LJ. Very good vid... only too much NY oriented :P. The best LJ was in the hornets (as skills, not as hard work). Ward-Houston-Spree-LJ-Ewing were great knicks

  • a truly unforgetable player. hope knicks will come back soon...

  • We used to here stories here in San Antonio back in the day of this kid that was DESTROYING other teams near Dallas and Tyler Texas.

It was LJ. We became fans and were so pissed he didn't go to TEXAS.

Still, we were very happy for his succsess at UNLV and his play in the leauge.

    A MAN AMONGST BOYS!

  • Guys that big should not be able to shoot like that.....amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing player!

  • the KNICKS will RISE AGAIN!

  • The roar of the Garden will only be heard again when the teeth come back. Love to the 93-94 and 1999 knicks. You guys gave it your all, and New York remembers.

  • DATZ MY BIG COUSIN,JOHNSON LOVE 4EVER

  • my favorite player ever

  • good player. bad song.

  • nice vid

and somebod' get rid of the dam song

  • His best years were at Charlotte

  • True but his most memorable years were in NY due to his playoff runs. He carried that team to the finals in 99.

  • Larry was awesome

  • I made a lot of cash off LJ hitting big shotS! Thanks LJ!

  • whats up wit the fag music

  • how come theres no vids with him yelling after scoring in it, he used to do that all the time was funny

  • so nobody is going to comment on the hilarity that is Chris Dudley and his goofy ass antics at the 2:34 and 3:00 marks?!?!?

no one?? nobody else saw this and lost their mind in a whirlwind of laughter?

shouts to Fae Miliano for the drop

  • what is the song???

  • great video, shit music though

  • MY FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME!!!!!

  • UNLV!!! BABY!!

  • man who played with alot of heart and passion. lost his explosiveness and jumping ability due to back problems, but was still the man. he was truly the backbone and leader of those knicks teams of the later half of the 90s

  • And don't forget he was arguebly the most popular PF of the early to mid-90's(next to maybe Barkley). LJ and Shaq were both newcomers that even rivaled Michael Jordan's popularity in the mid-90's. And of course LJ probably has the most famous 4-point play in B-Ball history.

  • I can´t help it, everytime a watch a video of the 1994 or 1999 knick my tears come out, because those teams were more like a brotherhood. they won together, they lose together. Ewing, Oakley, Smith, Mason, Derek Harper, Starks, L. Johnson, Camby, Childs, Houston, Sprewell and Charlie Ward, you will be always in truly ny knicks´ fans' hearts

  • 10 years really aint shit

  • Nice video

  • thats me at 1:57

  • lol. is that u for real?

  • is that really you???

  • yea it is, it was also on sportscenter when i was younger. cool huh =)

    Knicks fan since birth!!!

  • CHARLOTTE HORNETS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that song wuz turriballlllll

  • what a terrible TERRIBLE song

  • ROFLROFLROLROFL at this song.

  • BRO! any highlights from his UNLV RUNNING REBELS DAYS!? MAN playing with boys back then! BEAST!

  • Favorite player alltime still got a whole collection of his cards!!! LJ for president!!

  • LJ, just a great Knickerbocker!!!!

  • This song is awful!

  • Never cared for NBA basketball untill Larry played.More of a College Basketball Fan.

  • get this song outta here

  • Maybe the greatest collage player ever...the man was dominant

  • A Bad Back robbed him of being one of the great players of all time. At UNLV where i watched him game in and game out he was so utterly dominant..it was insane. He was always the best player on the court and everybody knew it.

  • Cool video, as good as Larry Johnson was as Knick, he was a lot better when he was a Hornet. And in college.

    Definite Hall of Famer.

  • Good old days NY!! LJ was the man.. look at the starting 5 those days and look at now!! someone need to show this to Mr Curry and the others!!

  • why do guys like him don't win anything then theres cheap shot rob who wins 6?

  • Big time NBA player. Just amazing to watch. I feel lucky to have witnessed his career. Just a treat.

  • i heard that this is the dude biggie was talkin about in story to tell? lol

  • thats funny....everybody did, wrong one though

  • LJ was one of my favorite Forwards in the NBA GLAD to see someone has some footage of him!!

  • whats with the shitty song

  • he was a outside threat with the knicks, but he was a beast with the hornets!!!!!!

  • Damm You James Dolan.

  • Great video.

  • Threeee point goal ... LARRY JOHN-SON!!

  • Funny how everyone misses the good ol' days, but if you remember, people hated the knicks back in the mid 90's. They felt they slowed down the game with all that hand checking and in your face defense. But you never miss the water until the well runs dry. So yeah, those were the glory days even though we didn't quite appreciate it then.

  • No, I just hated the Knicks because they beat my Heat in the Playoffs 2 years in a row.

I even cried one time. lolz

  • as much as those knicks teams were bad ass, the heat were pretty F'N tough too.

  • Larry Johnson was one a kind.Recently i watch old nba playoffs game Knicks-Heat 1997-2000.THose days people were playing and competing in the court.Nowadays its only a bussines and boring basketball.Good old days..LJ,Barkley,Rodman,Olajuwon,MJ,Pippen,Mourning ...

  • Larry Johnson was incredible warrior and soul of "old" New Yorki Knicks. One of best player in NBA.

  • Thought this was gonna be a hornets video.

GrandMama-the weirdest marketing strategy ever. that being said, Grandmama was awesome!

  • Great Video, I miss those knicks so much. You should send this video to MSG and have Dolan & Company show the players just what playing with haert means.

Bring back oakley, ewing,LJ,starks, mason, anthony, spreewell,Houston. as old as they are now they would still win more games and if not you know they were trying.

  • yea thos kncicks kick ass...all those dudes made new york a sic ass team

  • i love LJ thats all i can say iv been a huge fan eversince he's in charlotte... 1 of the best PF in the NBA

  • That four point play, is one of all time moments in life and Knicks history

  • incredible mix

it is powerful as it is saddening

  • How can you have a LJ tribute with no Hornets highlights???? If it were not for his back, he would have been as good as Barkley! If not better. Still like it though, I loved LJ

  • great nba legend

  • Brings tears to my eyes. LJ was a warrior and TRUE Knick. We love you LJ.

  • damn.. what the hell has happened to the knicks ??? I cant even watch them anymore... I loved the 90's Knicks.. Those were good basketball years.

  • Great song

  • Great Tribute!

  • Man LJ was my hero, back then , as i was a knick fan, still a knick fan during their tough times. Even modeled my game after him when i played back in elementary and highschool.

  • It's sad NY has become such a horrible team thanks to Isiah fire that son of a bitch already

  • Im the little Girl in the vid with the LJ sign

  • haha

  • True Warrior

  • bad song

  • Brings tears to my eyes. Dolan has ruined my Knicks, that BASTARD! The Knicks used to be MEN, now they are nothing but punks. We miss you Big LJ, Oak, Starks, Mase, Ew, Spree ... TRUE KNICKS.

  • @adam3172 Amen

  • bu adam cok erken bırakmak zorunda kaldı ya

  • i remember watching that game and calling the 3pt play for johnson ... but that team was great to watch with houston sprewell childs camby ward and ofcourse johnson... too bad about ewing he would key against the spurs

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • LJ is one of the best clutch player ever..He is my inspiration every time i shoot the ball from the 3 point line

  • LJ was hilarious. Anyone remember "The Lick" he used to do?

  • what's the name of the song???

  • the song is sidewalks by story of the year.

  • Sidewalks by Story of the Year

  • whats the name of the song???

  • what song is that?

  • Brings tears to my eyes. LJ was a warrior and TRUE Knick. We love you LJ.

  • I was in a hotel room in Boston when LJ hit that bucket and will NEVER forget!

  • i agree.. I really miss the days when teams played with true grit and heart! ill always be a die hard knick fan.. hopefully they will be good one day..

  • can someone post larry johnson grandma and little penny hardaway commercial those were the best

  • Did he die?

  • lol no, but it does seem that he did with this video

  • lol, this video really makes you think he is dead yes. I would say he was a decent player

but not one of the best ever.

  • I was an LJfan when he was in college. He was spectacular for the hornets, but gritty, tough and perfect for the knicks.

    Awesome clip!!

  • This was when there were actually teams that played with heart! I miss that in basketball.

  • larry johnson was an overrated jealous punk. I love the fact this no talent hump had to watch zo when a ring in his hometown, lol!

  • PF but alrounder...aaah damn back injury. By the way, nice vid but I remember better scenes from him, also already when he was at UNLV or Charlotte...LJ only time I was fan of somethin'

  • michealhassett03 u don't know anything about sports what rings?

  • ARE BEING SARCASTIC

  • I myself am not a Knicks fan, but I wish I were. Look at all those Championship rings they got in the 90's.

  • LJ, dats a Knick, nuff said. We appreciate you!!!!

  • thanks for video.

    my favorite player!

my favorite team of new york!

One team go to 8 in playoffs run to the finals..

    NEW YORK OF 1999!!!

    Remeber lj!!

  • its funny, i bet every one who says that larry johnson's career went to shit when he went to the knicks is a charlotte hornets fans. he stepped up bigtime when the knicks went to the playoffs. These hornets fans r jealous b/c with larry johnson and mugsy they couldn't be half the team the knicks were in the 90's even without LJ. The heart of the city throughout the 90's was at MSG.

***New York Knicks Fan 4 Life!!!

  • "L" yea he hurt his back but name me one player

who after the injury played with that amount of heart

every night hit three's like no tomorrow and had some

    nice post moves.........(silence) THANK YOU!!

KNICKS FOR LIFE! He could have easily calle dit quits and sat out, that lockout season was the best

group of Knicks next to the 94 finals.......

  • Ever since he hurt his back he was never the same player. I'm supprised nobody mentioned that. But of the '90's he was the best at what he did.

  • GOD bless LJ. check out DODGEBALL GLORY on youtube!!!!!!

  • Ignore that nigga this video is sick and the songs alright goes good with the laid-back style of tribute BIG L is the truth man...Knicks fan miss that dude

  • the reason that happend was because he was a 6'5 guard...that was forced to play small forward and power forward toward the end of his career...aka he got his career shitted on when he got traded to the knicks....

  • Yeah right ... u know shit. shut your face.

  • i'll slapp the shyt out u...BUMB ass nigga...

  • Amazing how LJ transformed his game from being a dominant inside scorer to being a Big L symbol flashing perimeter player with NO hops at the end of his career

  • this music is pretty weak. even though i'm a knicks fan, and lj was the heart of those late 90s teams, it would have been alright to include some hornets highlights, he was really a beast back then.

  • nice song....and yeah, LJ was always my boy..in New York..

  • I had a chance to play with LJ in the Dallas summer leauge back in 95.saw him play all threw his college years from jr.college at midland, allthe way to UNLV.he was 1st signed to Texas tech out of high school.....great person to be around.i had a chance to meet him and that strong UNLV team back in 91 on one of my college visits...he back in dallas enjoying that 44mill.he signed long time ago.CHILLING with his fam.(real talk).oh!!larry used to be a boxer befor hooping.peace.

  • ignore that dude, great video

  • WTF KINDA TRIBUTE IS THIS SHIT!!! I SHIT ON THIS VIDEO..!!What kinda gay ass whiteboy shit music is this shit? Are u fucking kidding me?This must be a fucking joke. Why not show any of LJ when he was in his prime and a monster dunker..NO GRANDMAMA? what a fucking disgrace!

  • Awesome video, thanks

  • Great video!!! I was fortunate to see his first game on the high school varsity as a freshmen, high school practices, and every game after that through college. There are only few other athletes that have loved the game as much as "The Marshall" or "Big L" or just LJ. We miss you big fella!!!

  • tears in the eye str8 away dude, its just unreal that someone loved watching him as much as i did. Big respect primetime and thanx for memories.

  • whats this song

  • By the way his best video i found on youtube is the 1992 slam dunk contest: powerful player! If anyone has more news about his life now please post as a reply to my comment. Thanks

  • He's been my youth icon. Here in Italy nobody knew who Larry Johnson was; all the nba addicted kids in italy had jordan shirts and supported bulls or lakers. I was the only one carrying the hornets #2 jersey, converse aero jam #2 shoes (white ones), hornets baseball hat when he was in Charlotte. I went to see him play in Bologna against the Buckler Bologna back in 1994. So sad when saw him sitting in the bench with injured leg, anyway the hornets won the game 114-107

  • I considered him my favorite player back in the day when he was on the Hornets. When he was traded to NY, I was devastated. Great player

  • I love LJ,the video,the song...I´m a die-hard Knicks fan

  • I'm Larry Johnson's biggest fan and I think this video is one of the best ever!! I have the largest L J collection in the world and have followed him for the past 17 years. I miss watching him out there on the court giving 110% all the time..ONE of the all time NBA greats in my mind!

  • wow

  • you know what he's been doing now? what he's up to?

  • great vid

  • LJ is my favorite nba player of all time. I'm new to youtube and this is the first thing I looked up. Thank you

  • Wheres the Hortnets Highlights, LJ was not a jumpshooter until his later days. That music sucks!

  • That brought a tear to my eye...yeah right!

  • as a knicks fan, i appreciate all the hard work he gave us! i wish more players can play with as much passion as him

  • I grew up watching larry play, reminds me of the old days.

  • love LJ, love the Knicks, love the song, love SOTY, love this vid, one of my faves on youtube

  • that music was kinda lame no doubt but the piece was well done.

  • LJ was a pretty good shooter

  • Why do people like crappy music?

  • jkashb shut ure ass up u retard do u hav a life make all the music mutable y dnt u just shut up and let us all be in the peace u retard

  • fuck you jkash

  • I just thought of a great new YouTube feature - make all the music tracks mutable so we can actually enjoy the video and the sounds that actually belong to it.

  • I could never forget the L shape he made during each big shot...I strongly miss him, and the knicks...Thank You, Larry! for all the great times...

  • I heard LJ opened a car wash

  • WOW..that was great man, i was in the mood for some reminiscing and there it was...he had a great career..could've been even better...

  • LJ was a great player. If his back didnt go out, Imagine the Possiblities.

  • Good video!!!!!!

  • Anyone know where Larry right now? What is he doing?

  • isn't he living in vegas.

  • i'll never forget that 4 point play against indiana in the playoffs, one knock on LJ when he came to the knicks was that he couldn't play defense well, well he proved a lot of people wrong

  • He had an incredible dunk in the dunk constest too. It was like a windmil 360.

  • Brought a tear to my eye. Truely tragic about his injuries. The OG Runnin' Rebel high flyer who helped pave the way for big time above the rim players like Shawn Marion, VC, Artest. LJ will surely be missed by all his fans. We appreciate the games he gave us.

  • that's the real fight of spirit, the great pride of ny knicks,..........thanks larry,we'll never forget

  • What song was that?

  • The song is called 'Sidewalks' by Story of the Year.

  • One of my favs of all time. Unfortunate back injury. I have soo many of his rookie cards

  • His best years were in Charlotte. It's unfortunate that his back prevented him from being a truly great player.
