  • Austin Aries > Shawn Michaels

  • Bring back this Punk

  • I get goosebumps everytime I watch this match and Aries hits the kick.

  • 3:04 and 2:55 ar from Chicago Ridge. Incase anyone cares.

  • Samoa Joe has been in three 5 - star matches so far. That just shows you that he truly is one of the best.

  • True, but he'll never beat Misawa's record, then again, I don't think anyone will. I think there are some flaws in the five star system anyway, it's far from perfect, but Joe's awesome no doubt about that.

  • Yeah, cause star ratings are what makes a good wrestler *sighs* stars ratings have no actual fact; they are all opinionated

  • Do you think that just any wrestler could have a 5 star match. I really doubt that. So surely it must mean something.

  • god the ROH fans rock. WWE fans wouldnt pop that big for those moves in a million years, hell, ECW fans wouldnt pop that loud for regular wrestling moves without weapons. ROH FTW

  • Does anybody else look at Gabe and say "There's no way that voice should come out of that body. It's just, not possible".

Oh well, he's a brilliant mind for wrestling though. ROH is the best in the World!!!

  • Fans even chanted "5 star match" before those 3 matches listed, 3 most overrated in ROH's history

    examples...

1: Amazing Red Vs Low Ki (2002 Road To The Title)

2: Michael Shane Vs Paul London Street Fight (2003 Unscripted)

3: Homicide Vs Corino (2003 Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies)

4: AJ Styles Vs Low Ki Vs Paul London (2003 One Year Anniversary)

5: AJ Styles Vs Paul London (2003 Night Of The Grudges)

6: Generation Next Vs The Briscoes, Jimmy Rave, & John Walters (2004 Generation Next)

  • I see you like Paul London hehe. I freaking love ROH, and WWE ruined Paul London. Among others, like Spanky (despite his current push, which is more about his manager than Kendrick himself), and, at times, CM Punk.

Great video. Man the crowd popped hard for Aries beating Joe for the strap.

  • I was just pointing out what other matches the fans chanted *5 star match* for. I used to like ROH to. To me ROH was ruined after 2005 because it became more spotty & story lined more then usual almost to the point whare ROH's become like the wwFe these days.

Well both the E & TNA always ruin people that can actualy wrestle, weather it be former ECW, PWG, ROH, & or WCW talent.

  • True. I think all wrestling has gone downhill since 2005, except some indies (I don't think ROH has gone down that much). Like, TNA in 05 produced stellar PPVs every month, and ROH was awesome (I have the ROH Samoa Joe dvds Vol 1 and 2, which is where I first saw ROH, from 2003-04, it is awesome), even WWE was kinda watchable.

  • Agreed & I'll still support ROH even if they are like wwFe these days, I'll just buy stuff prior to 2006. Although since 2005 PWG's been awesome.

  • Yeah, unfortunately, I've only been able to see a small amount of PWG. Did you see Ash Riot & Mark Davis at All Star Weekend? They're from over here in Australia, in promotions I will be training with in a couple of years.

  • From this most recent All-Star Weekend? Cause if so the last recent PWG event I saw was All-Star Weekend: Night 1 from last year.

  • Yeah, the most recent one. They were in the opening match on Night 1.

  • don't be confused by TNA, it was never that great because it was never it's own company. Think about it, how many wrestlers did they honestly find and make on their own? Abyss, Eric Young, Robert Roode, that's about it.

You have the guys with mainstream followings like Angle, Christian, and Booker T., and guys who they got with underground followings like Joe, Daniels, Low Ki (early), Styles, and Homicide. TNA has no legs or brains of their own, everything they have is taken form elsewhere.

  • TNA Didnt make abyss though, either... he' was huge in IPW and other international places around the world.

  • Dunno when this was made, but ROH has actually produced a 5 star Meltzer match every year since '04.

    04: Joe vs Punk II

    05: Joe vs Kobashi

06: Do Fixer vs Blood Generation

    07: Bryan Danielson vs KENTA

They're really amazing, I highly reccomend seeing them live, you'll never foget it, it's so much louder and more interactive than any WWE show I've been to, and I've been to about 4-6 WWE shows since '03 and a TNA show, ROH beats them hands down on the live experience.

  • KENTA vs. Danielson took place in Sept 06 and it was rated ****3/4. Was this the one you were thinking of or was there another?

  • Coulda sworn the one at Glory By Honor V Night 2, not the one at Driven was given 5 stars and he highly praised Danielson as the ROH champ, saying that he hadn't seen someone able to put over his opponents even when they lose like Danielson does since Flair.

  • That's the one from Sept 06... Great point point Danielson/Flair

  • I thought it was too, I think the main comparison is how he could take anyone on the roster broadway and they'd come out looking better than they went in because they went "60 minutes with the best in the world" or, in Roderick's Strong's case, had his entire main event level career springboarded by Danielson making him look like a million bucks for 56 minutes.

  • I'm confused When TNA first came on SPIKE it had to one of the best shows Ive seen in years.I also notice now that in the first month or 2 alot of the TNA Wrestlers were ROH guys.Did they have a deal or something? But now jeeze TNA is really going into the Crapper.Relik,Black Reign,Judas Masius c;mon,Enough "Monsters,And soap opera crap and More wrestling!!!

  • ROH makes enough money without a TV deal to not need to change.

  • is this fight network on dish TV? I have every channel so tell me if it is.

  • roh wont change cos they simply wont allow it

TNA wanted 2 be a challenger 2 the wwe, but roh rnt like that

i'd put me house on it

  • you know when roh gets a tv deal it won't be the same

  • why not

  • look at tna

  • They got ruined with a TV deal? Or is it becuase Scott Damore got axed and Dutch got his place. If ROH remembers their mission statement they will be fine. TNA has bad booking, its not SPIKEs fault.

  • Shiriwastaw is right. TNA's transition to TV changed TNA because the booking changed. So instead of the same thing you saw before, you see... a rat on a pole match, because Vince Russo has a fetish for pole matches, and the current burying of the X Division.

  • Point well taken bloodymargie. TNA has bad booking, in my opinion, most of the wrestling promotions on TV cares about ratings. I don't think ROH is like that. They care about the action in the ring, not about stupid promos. They care about giving the fans Real WRESTLING. That's right WRESTLING.

  • ROH far exceed TNA and WWE in-terms of genuine quality. A cultured wrestling fan should know by now where to invest their time and money, at least in the Western market. Popular wrestling is generally trash - a shallow product designed by incorporating already established successful elements and reprinting them in a meaningless manner for pop-culture to ingest.

  • What ROH does has meaning. The amount of viewers does not equate to some thing's weight in value, that's a terrible misconception. WWE may make more money, but their product is trash. Vince McMahon is not God of pro wrestling, what that company produces is not the standard by any means. To watch ROH is to watch wrestlers at their real best, not some marketed "entertainment" best. Grow up, move on and get over it.

  • people said the same things about tna comparing it to wcw and late wwf

  • roh is awsome its the best fed ever ROH! ROH! ROH!

  • just to let everyone know, ive never watched ROH i think they are OK but for everyone out there to know....magazines dont decide what federation is better....

  • I watch mostly TNA and sometimes ROH.I haven't seen WWF in years and I wouldn't even recognize some of those guys if they walked passed me on the street.TNA Live and TNA on PPV,ROH Live & ROH on DVD are AMAZING

  • ROH makes TNA look like WWE by comparasin.

  • Honestly, TNA makes TNA look like WWE by comparison recently. Except WWE still makes a profit.

  • LOL! Great fucking comment!

  • Not to hang on your balls or anything, but your commentary on your profile is mostly dead-on. A bit too many "ums" and "uhs", but you're flowing in one nearly 10-minute session, so it's not really bad at all. Good work, man.

  • Thanks. I know I "um" and "uh" too much... it is really annoying, but is something I have been working on. But thanks for the feedback.

  • yo i love wwe and tna and i have not seen a roh match yet but roh has help young guys get there start

  • There's no reason to thumbs down this guy just cause he hasn't seen RoH yet... but regardless, Brian, check it out if you can. RoH really does put on the best wrestling shows this side of the globe. Their booking is tremendous, and many of the matches they showcase are simply the best currently available on this continent.

  • This is so true
