I bought my cousin's ace with a custom rom, wich kernel is 2.6.35.7 ... i read that in order to install cm7.2, i need to have stock or custom rom on 2.3 ... does that matter? or else what do i need to do to change from the custom rom i have to this CM7.2? .... thanks in advance...

Doesnt seem to have an in build task manager like the stock rom and it wont let you disable 3G either... unless I am missing something. Main screen flip orientation now works flash works as well but to be honest I wish I could go back to the stock rom I have had more force close application errors in the last 24 hours with this rom than in the past 6 months using the stock rom. Perhaps I just need to play around with it more. The 3G thing is a real problem though as it drains battery.

I installed withought doing the factory reset and it worked fine. Still need to reinstall all your apps etc though. It is a nice rom, layout taking some time to get used to as I am used to the Samsung custom droid but so far it seems very very nice.

@maxspeed2596 Dunno if this helps but it took my phone around 5 minutes to boot, another 5 minutes to set up my settings etc and then probably 10~15 mins to reinstall all my stuff from market etc. Not to long to be booted up first time though.

i have had cyanogenmod 7.2 & 7.1 for a while, everything works fine with my galaxy ace however whenever i want to use my 3g connectivity/mobile data/internet package, it wont activate - no icon comes up on the status bar at the top. i can use wifi but when i have no wifi and i want to use my internet 3g from my provider it wont work, it worked when i didnt have cyanogenmod. me and brother have same phone, and both have same problem - please help! ive tried manually doing it etc!

i installed this before but no luck since i can't connect via WIFI. I also hated the vibration effect when i press "back" button. I was trying to disable that vibration but i can't find it on the settings. Fortunately, a nice background, nice themes and a better performance. Unfortunately, i uninstalled the ROM since everything doesnt work fine.

So now, regarding your question, If you feel that your phone is going-to-be outdated. You may upgrade it to CM7.2 but as i know it is not stable yet. You can try 7.1 which i am also using by now. The 2.3.5 will only be updated AFTER you INSTALL the CM correctly. Hope it helps! Cheers!

@anonimouslyification No, the ace is not in 2.3.7 before install. The maximum of a stock ACE can only reach 2.3.6 gingerbread. ONLY AFTER you INSTALL the CM correctly, your version will only be 2.3.7. Trust me, it is a total different experience after the upgrade. I am also an SGA user, using cyanogenmod 7.1 with 2.3.7 currently.
