  • Absolutely wonderfully expressed. Thank you.

  • I loved the last image with you and your three kiddos... super adorable!

  • Even though I had a hospital birth that was vaginal (not natural, like I intended- was in labor too long- exhaustion took over and I had to have an epidural) I cried at your movie, and in a good way too. I hope your home birth was healing for you. :-) Amazing, simply amazing.

  • Amazing I am going to try anyday now for a normal birth following 2 sections... I'm worried but very willing to attempt the most natural thing that women were made for!

  • Congratulations! I hope you have found peace and healing.

Hopefully one day I too will have a successful VBA2C.

  • Kirsten. I just watched your video and I am amazed and inspired and given hope by it. I am going to be getting pregnant in september and I am going for a HBA2C. Thank you for your video. Soooooo inspiring!

  • As a woman who also had 2 devastating c-sections I cried at the c-section video footage! :-(

But as a fellow HBA2Cer I also cried at the footage of your homebirth!! :-) *For very very different reasons of course!* Congratulations!

  • Beautiful birth! A fellow ICANer and VBACer here-- thank you so much for sharing your story.

  • My first two births mimicked your first two almost exactly. I hope someday my 3rd births will be just like your third. Congratulations! What an amazing feeling that must have been!

  • This video is an inspiration to all women....WE CAN DO IT. I loved 6:35....i had tears running down my face at your joy. I am 5 months pregnant and it is my will to have a natural, drug-free childbirth for my self and my child.

  • Wow, wonderful sharing :-) I had to cry I was so moved. Well done girl!!!

  • absolutamente lindooooo,é possivel sim deixar a natureza fazer o seu trabalho...é só estar aberta a isso...lindoooo,parabéns !!

  • wow you looked so happy at the end I felt like I was with you on that C-section table~ I too was there after 12 hrs of active labor my doc broke my water too early I ended up running a high fever and needed a c-section. I was so let down and felt like what was supposed to be an amazing day turned into living heck!! I couldnt see her for 24 hrs hospital policy till my fever was gone and even after that she had to stay in the NICU:( The hospital wouldnt allow any video in the operating room

  • Beautiful video. Thank you so much for sharing. You knew you could do it and you did...

  • Thank you for this video, I had a successful VBA2C last june and the difference is so huge. Its interesting look at the pictures in between pregnacies, for your third pregnancy you look very different, I cant really explain what I mean, but thank you for sharing a small snipet of your story :)

  • Beautiful video. I too have become a member of ICAN after having a traumatic first c/s. I'm hoping to be able to have a home birth in the future.

  • Your story & video were absolutely beautiful & AMAZING!! Thank you so much for sharing!!

  • very sweet. i love the final shot of mom and kids taking a nap. so precious! congratulations!

  • Thank you thank you thank you! I am due today with our third child - planning a VBA2C, and I needed to see your video today. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing your HBA2C sotory with us! It is so important for women to know that they CAN! And it's thru stories like yours that women find out that they have to take control of the situation and that the decision should be theirs! It's thanks to stories like yours that my first daughter was born at home! Thank you so much! Luana - Sao Paulo, Brasil, mother to 14 month old Beatriz.

  • Maravilhoso, emocionante, parabéns!!!!!

  • I loved your story. I am sitting here bawling. I feel like I was cheated out of the first hours of my daughters life. You want the best for your child so after 2 days of induced labor you do what the doctor says. I could have birth her naturally, our bodies are made to do this. I missed bonding with her and we had a very hard first few weeks. A CS is major surgery and it is hard to take care of another human being after having that kind of procedure. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • That was so beautiful! I also had 2 sections, and the first was general and I didn't see my baby for hours just like you. It was horrible. My third was a hospital transfer vbac! I am now due with our 4th boy in 3 weeks, and am planning our first homebirth! Thanks so much for sharing your story.

  • thank you so much for taking the time to answer my cuestion:). I want to try a VBAC for my next baby, but my cousin tell me that meybe a will have problem whit my vagina for give birth a baby bigger that my first baby boy my first was 8.14lbs and 21 1/2inch. do you think so?. do you have some problem?. I want to try!!!!

  • I appreciate all the kind, supportive words so much... it meant a lot to me to process my experience and make this video, I'm glad it has been helpful to others out there who are dealing with their own childbirth choices. Trust in birth.

  • wow. seriously. you really can see it in your eyes the third time. I have two fantastic daughters aged 6 and 2. first was preemie emergency c-sec at 30 weeks from preeclampsia at age 19. second was chosen c-sec at 36 weeks because well been there done that why not again right? wrong. I thought I was making the right choice for me out of fear and misinformation. I too had the same feelings as you. loss, sadness, no baby for 6 hours! I hope #3 can be a HBA2C. I'll hold out hope. thank you!

  • HI, TWO MONTHS AGO A HAVE A INDUCED LABOR WITH PITOCION, FINALLY ANDING AN CESAREAN. my cuestion is What time I need to wait for trying a HBAC?

I will waiting for your answer thank you.

  • Tubanera - I'm sorry for your cesarean birth with your little one. Unfortunately, I do not have an exact answer for how long to wait... My daughters were born 19 months apart, but that was only my experience. Perhaps there is a midwife nearby with whom you could discuss your options? Best wishes to you on this journey.

  • @tubanera It is suggested at least a year after birth to become pregnant again. There should be no reason why you can't go vback at that point unless there is a serious risk to you or the baby or a significant history of birthing concerns.

  • You have the most beautiful children and I hope all stays fantastic in life!

  • The tears rolled down face as I watched your video. You have just said everything that I have been feeling since my 2 c sections. If we have a 3rd I will be doing going for a VBA2C. I could see the difference in your eyes after the natural birth on the pictures. Thank you for sharing your story, you have given me hope that it is possibly. You have a wonderful family, huge congratulations.

  • So sorry about your firt two births. So glad things all went to plan for you congradulations to you all your video was heart warming.

  • omg, i cried that was so moving, i have had 2 c sections, my last was 4 years ago, i have been too scared to try agian as i have already failed twice. your a true inspiration. you have 3 beautiful daughters

  • Hi !

I'm french, and we have the same story ...

    3 beautifull girls, 2 C-section and a homebirth !!!!!!

You have the right words! thanks a lot !

yes, we were broken and now stronger !!!

Thanks to god, for his mighty presence

  • Amazing. I am so glad that you finally got to do things the way you wanted! I have been struggling to have children, and my worst fear is being made to have a C-Section, when the time comes. I want a natural birth, and perferably at home.

You are a strong women, and thanks so much for sharing. Good luck to you and your family.

    btw. Your daughters are BEAUTIFUL!

  • Wow! Congratulations on finally getting the birth you wanted. The difference in the pictures is amazing! and how cute are your daughters!!

  • Your words and images have spoken a message so profound, so clear, so true. I cried as I watched the insensitive doctors so blithely discussing how many bowls of wheaties to eat as your beautiful girl was brought into the world. I am so proud that you took the journey to home birth, as I did with my own son. You are a testament to powerful women everywhere. Thank you for sharing your story so beautifully.

  • wow all I can say is what a story...your message got accross and it brings hope and faith to us all!.....I am waiting for my miricle and that is to just have my first I hope to be as strong as you and keep hope

  • I'm also expecting my 3rd daughter and praying for a VBA2C. Thank you for sharing your inspiring story!

Watching the doctors cracking jokes and taking the baby away when you hadn't even seen her broke my heart.

  • How awesome! I also had two c-sections. If ever I am blessed to find myself pregnant again, I am going to have a VBA2C. Thank you for sharing your personal and beautiful story.

  • I LOVED your story!!! I had cesareans with both of my daughters and am so hoping for a vba2c with our 3rd. I have become a doula and know SO much more than I did before. I've also joined ICAN. Thank you so much for telling your beautiful story. It's truly inspirational!!!

  • I am sorry I got so wrapped up in the sadness I forgot to CONGRATULATE you on your success!! Good job!

  • I am so glad I found your story I am on ICAN too they are excellent! I am trying for a hba2c also. Your story is so motivating. And yes my surgeons were having a good old time while I was laying there feeling like crap, but things will be different this time because I am not going to their facilities unless its a bona fide emergency

  • This story needs to be told, and the media do not cover it, because they can't see it. Our birth industry is a product of prudish and mysogynist sytems developed by people like the victorians, the deeply clinical and inhuman US govt that ruled in the 50's, etc. One factoid covers it for me - laying on your back is the worst position and they force you to do it for their convenience. they create the prolems they "solve". Thanks thanks thanks.

  • When i watch birth videos (I am pregnant) on you-tube and see "traditional" (tubes, on back, c-sections) hospital births one of Pink Floyd's songs come at me...."WELCOME TOOOO THE MACHINE!" It makes me so sad.

  • TOTALLY AWESOME! You go momma! WE support because WE CAN!

  • Thank you so much for sharing. I am sitting here drenched in tears. I am praying for a successful vba2c. We are expecting our third daughter :) Still looking for a midwife to attend me at home. Your success helps fuel my drive to keep moving forward. Thank you.

  • Yeah, the doctors . . . don't want to paint them all with the same brush, but so many seem to have no real understanding of the experience from our end. The consequences can be devastating and I don't even think they have any idea. Unbelievable. My brother and sister-in-law just went through a traumatic C-section. Major surgery, as you said, real trauma in a few different ways, and then must come home and care for two tiny children!

  • Wow. Amazing. Inspirational. You and your daughter are just gorgeous. And your husband is an angel -- it shows. Thank you for posting this.

  • So happy for you that you ended up giving birth the way that every woman deserves and has the right to. Very moving video. Congratulations.

  • You did an incredible job. Those girls have a very strong and beautiful mother. You did great in all three births even though you couldn't have knocked the snot out of those doctors. I myself is not a fan of doctors. Its encouraging to see you had the courage to go with a homebirth after all you've been through. Cheers love!

  • Such a beautiful, moving video. Absolutely wonderful! Congratulations on your journey and accomplishments.

  • Congratulations on your VBA2C; your daughters are so beautiful! "Hands" is one of my favorite songs.

I know, the whole laughing and joking through major surgery is so annoying and disrespectful.

  • I too have experienced two cesareans and can identify with all that you wrote in your video. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your journey.

  • Simply incredible, simply beautiful, a birth to both of you. Congratulations, you did it!

  • OMG - this is BEAUTIFUL!! I was CRYING when your last daughter was born and watching the birth!!!!!

    Grrrr....and those dr's at the 2nd birth - grrrr....Wheaties, indeed.....

(my own daughter was watching this intently too, I thought maybe picking up some good vibes for when she has her own kids some day - but then she started singing "Conjunction Junction.")

But seriously, this is POWERFUL and BEAUTIFUL! And it totally moved my heart!
