No, I got affected by his stupidity. The fact that there are absolutely no redeeming qualities about his version (because he didn't write the damn thing, only his dumbass lyrics) is just depressing.
That line, in the context of the rest of the song, sounds like self-justifying bullshit that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. I doubt he's flirting around for her. But the excuses he makes for it are rubbish that are easily discounted.
And then all he does is repeat the exact same excuse she considers bullshit (if I'm coming home to you/ie not sleeping with her then there's no problem), as if he thinks he's making a valid case. Lol! He's totally missing the point. The only part not worthy of scorn is where he calls her on the original song's self-righteous attitude and points out neither of them are perfect. And to be fair, the original lyrics were guilty of blatant and ugly generalizations. Still, what disappointing shit.

[Besides, paying the bills doesn't exactly give you license to do whatever you want, unless she's just a housekeeper. What you pay for her upkeep is better considered reimbursement for her work around the house, not the price of acceptance. She now says she is confused and if what she felt for me wasnt love, she never gonna know what love is.
