  • Ha Ha I see you tried throwing some Emmanuel into the arrangement. You did quite well.

  • you keep saying you're not that good, but this one you're lovin it and your skill shows mate, rippin it up! I've been playing a fairly basic Daytripper riff since I picked up a guitar and as an easily recognisable tune I often work it into the middle of other songs but this compilation is awesome! loved it! You've obviously got some mad fans too haha!

  • Świetne wykonanie

  • practice a little more but you got it goodd :)

  • that lady madonna is so fuckin awesome

  • What does your daughter say at the end? Is she telling you to "cut out the racket"?

  • AMAZING..

  • Your guitar is out of tune dude !!!!

  • I reckon, well played though.

  • Always nice to find another Beatles fan.

But yeah either it's outa tune or your accidentily bending the strings slightly on the harder bits.

Still absolutely fantastic. I could never play like that in a million years

  • Well done man! Not an easy song to play!

  • good!! maybe it get better with the guitar little more in tune!lol..sorry..anyway well done man!!:)

  • Fantastic...i love your videos...you make that guitarr talk..!!! amazing..

  • One word.....Awesome.//Phil

  • i don't know how you can play so perfectly a guitar ...i can only do the main melody of day tripper... GOOOOOD!!! ^^

  • Well he has been playing for 30 yrs.

  • Nice, this put a smile on my face :)

  • Wo, tune and repost.

  • Ha, but then you'd never know how bad I was when I first started putting up videos (or inability to tune guitar ;))

  • I'd be less concerned about the tuning and more about the playing...and the playing was great my friend. It's a tough song technically and that was well done. The hat made my day, just makes me think of a farmer breaking out the guitar after a long day on the job...hahahha and your daughter (I'm assuming) coming in at the end, I love it. Great job!

  • @listercsman It still sounds good. Don't hate.

  • Quite a good cover but the guitar ist SO out of tune xD

  • ahoy! nice job mate, especially on lady madonna. where can i get the tabs for it btw? i tried googling lady madonna in vain.

  • No worries, there is a very good tab by Giorgio Maletti on the net, do a search for "day tripper giorgio maletti" and go for the pdf...enjoy!

    JAW

  • thx mate. that's a hell of a tough song

  • parfait et en plus un beau chapeau je vais essayer de me trouver le meme

  • i was waiting for gomer and andy to come in to help out. good stuff

  • Your thumb independence is brilliant. I'm much closer to getting MC's thumb slap on California Dreamin than I am at gaining the thumb independence to take on this beast.

  • ive learnt this and will try get a vid cam to pop it on, 2 things, need to nail the timing and i think the tuning is slightly out, would need someone to confirm, but im fussy... good work anyway!

  • Heh, I only leave this video here as proof that I have improved in the last 3 years...and that I was right to buy an electronic tuner ;)

  • INCREIBLEEE!!!

  • can you redo this on classical guitar?

i was gonna try it myself but it sounds quite hard. how difficult would you say it is?

  • I play this on nylon string from time to time...I have a funny aversion to redoing songs, once they are done that is it for life ;)

uP, you can play anything. You might have to reprogram your classical/flamenco brain somewhat because it requires a "different" brain pattern. Since you are asking the question I *strongly* recommend you try this. I think it will really suprise you. PM me for the tab if you need it.

  • Awesome stuff, I hope to learn this one day!

  • timing is everything ... practice slowly to a metronome nailing each beat with each finger and watch what happens to the timing in your playing ... trying to play as fast as tommy only really works if you are as good as tommy

  • well played guitar and a nice girl and: You stoppped soon, when your daughter came; Good Father, too.

  • The lead guitar in Day Tripper is the first thing I learned on guitar. I'm no where near as good as you but I still like to play it.

  • awesome awesome playing. I loved this

  • that must have been your daughter who you learning , or should i say perfecting cannon for :P You have a good life dude! :)

  • You got it! ;) Yep, bub #3 is going to be born in 2 more weeks...I've have to choose another song :)

  • And is it a girl or a boy?

  • It's a girl! ;)

  • Congrats!!!

  • so what if the person cant spell. it would be funny. but the dude is playing good. im sure the person was thinking that, but come on. someing playing and all of a sudden bam! the thing breaks, thats would be awesome!

  • Sorry to dissapoint you all but I rebuilt that bench a couple of years ago out of Jarrah - a eucalyptus hardwood - so although it looks pretty weathered, it's going nowhere ;)

  • youve got to laugh, some moron a month ago wrote ' it would be awesome if the 'bentch ' broke' is that what you get for sheer talent on here? some halfwit who cant spell ignoring your skill and making an arse of themselves, keep on keeping on, Jaw, youre an inspritaion.

  • Yet to put tab for this one up? By the way you look so Aussie in all the outside clips.

  • Heh, I went for the Aussie look ;) Won't be tabbing this one, learnt it from a book. I saw a few on the internet that were pretty good though, google it up.

  • Ok thanks for the lead

  • nice. this is very hard to play. i dont think some people realise just how hard it is.

  • Mmm, "thumb independence". Most of the stuff I like to try these days hinges around so called "thumb independence", it is very challenging and gives an overall sound that is different to "normal" guitar stuff. Did that make any sense? ;)

  • yeah, you should try "windy and warm"

  • it would have been awesome if the bentch broke!

  • It would have been nice if the guitar had been in tune. Howevere he did a great job, but when you compare these covers on here,,,,nothing compares to Tommy. Not even close. He is the master.

  • put some shoes on and you get 5 stars.

  • In Australia some people reckon thongs are shoes.

  • wow.. awesome i just cant seem to get both my right and left brain to syncronize with each other... haha nice job !

  • awsome job bro! I think the buzzing sound people r complaining about is the bench creaking! GREAT JOB!

  • You are an absolute delight to listen to...I love all your videos that you post up. Thank you JAW

  • Don't feel the music, eh? Sure fooled me. But what do I know? I'm an engineer too. Please keep posting on youtube and tabs on your web site. You're a real inspiration.

  • Bad tuning, good play.

  • innovative

  • You are one of the greater finger picking players on youtube...thanks for posting!!! loved all of your covers

  • wow that was good how long u been playing?

  • The guitar is very out of tune and I'm pretty sure that you're plucking the treble half a beat off or something.

And the buzzing is kindof terrible sounding.

But its awesome that you got the whole song down.

    Good job keep practiceing.

  • agree entirely awful sound quality, timing strayed a lot, but its open air mike and overall at least you worked through the whole song!

  • "Thus, I can really appreciate the amount of work it takes to get it to that level!"

    Ditto! :)

  • Good stuff! I have been spending the last three months learning these two songs and it is really hard! Thus, I can really appreciate the amount of work it takes to get it to that level! keep it going!

  • Great cover, do you get out much? Only messing and very jeleaus having only been playing for 6 months. Now post more!

  • mate, loved it. An avid tommy fan myself and having just started playing his style it's comforting to know that other people than just tommy himself are capable of playing this style! Well done mate.

  • You're great...

  • Nice one - do you have this tabbed out?

  • great job

  • Nice playing, but I don't know if it's just me, but the guitar sounds out of tune.

  • Heh, yep, it is. I'd had it on another tuning and didn't grab my tuner to get back to concert pitch. So although it is "in tune" with itself, it is very flat...oops! I promise to always tune to concert pitch before I record a song in the future!

  • well done friend, - Gus

  • NICE WORK MAN!! i can only get up to daytripper and a bit of lady madonna. im 13 so yeh theres tones of time to practice XD

  • Bravo.
