I like Nightwish's version better overall because THAT version brought out the intent of this song. It has the symphonic metal sound elements written in it. I guess you could say that this song was a victim of being in the eighties. Like "Danger Zone" (Top Gun) It has that sound.

Either way, I like this version still. I thought it was going to sound worse, but it still has those little things in it I liked that made it up in the first place. :D

Second if you are referring to the Irish sound as that 12/8 "skipping" time feel They are the same. Both songs have a lot in common. They just put a symphonic metal genre twist to it.

Holy mother! This song was released on my birth year but it's still great even it's very old compare to my country (Thai) new age rock bands (which is very popular). Damn, I'm realized how the "Thai Hardcore" and most Thai new age rock shitty is.
