In case anyone's wondering:

These whirlpools occur when the limestone foundation under the lake dissolves from the bottom up creating a cavern, until eventually the roof of it (which is also the floor of the lake) can't take the weight and caves in, sucking water down it. This one looks very small so one would imagine it's going to take a long time to drain this lake, or the cavern will be filled and the lake will carry on unchanged, albeit a few feet shallower.
