Dude 86 the CC. You can't see the knot. I mean you could have tied your shoelaces around it for all we know.

You don't "cross over twice" and then pass under.

You're doing a "figure 8" which is the classic newbie move.

You cross once, and then tuck under the next -- a "half 8 with a tuck" if you will.

A clean cleat knot will have to parallel lines over the cleat, and the last crossing over the top of them.

A true cleat hitch will not pass under the original horn twice-the second pass is over the horn and then turn under and back

tbh, you shouldn't advise this for every cleat knot.

if it's a cleat knot that's going to be put under a lot of pressure, you dont want to finish the knot off like that
