Auditing the fed is a novel idea however in the united states of autocracy, I highly doubt this is likely to take place or even if it did that any suitable results would come from a country that is on the brink of an open dictatorship. In case you think I don't know what I am talking about, I ask you to think about the history of the US prior to 1913 when the Fed was formed. We had the gold standard all those years, but there were still booms and busts with horrifying regularity. Why, if we had "sound money" should we have had all that turmoil? Because, all those years, we also had fractional reserve banking. It wasn't a system like we have now under the Fed, it was the wild west, so it actually was even worse than now.

If you do enough research about the Federal Reserve, you'll conclude that it is evil & should be abolished. The American money supply (currency) should be operated & controlled directly by the government instead. The Fed is a private (yes, private) bank monopoly that lends money to the gov't on leverage, based on debt; they lend most of this money without reserves at all. The Fed collects interest on money they don't even own to begin with! The Fed is similar to a Ponzi Scheme for bankers.

Auditing the fed is a novel idea however in the united states of autocracy, I highly doubt this is likely to take place or even if it did that any suitable results would come from a country that is on the brink of an open dictatorship. This is dangerous business. If the FED gets audited, there is a strong possibility that many honest and good Americans will lose their lives. You need to remember, these people have control of more weapons than any military on the planet, including nukes. They also have no guilt towards hiring foreign mercenaries to act as their army, so it doesn't matter if the US military doesn't comply with their demands. I do fully agree that it needs to be done though.

In case you think I don't know what I am talking about, I ask you to think about the history of the US prior to 1913 when the Fed was formed. We had the gold standard all those years, but there were still booms and busts with horrifying regularity. Why, if we had "sound money" should we have had all that turmoil? Because, all those years, we also had fractional reserve banking. It wasn't a system like we have now under the Fed, it was the wild west, so it actually was even worse than now.

Most importantly, whether she is misinformed or not the whole point is action, not details. If either of your points are correct then an audit is the first step in moving forward. I'm well aware of that, the fed creates tax payer money. Ron Paul saying that he cares about monetary policy doesn't equate to congress gaining control of said policy, it means that the feds useless bureaucracy will end.

Yeah but the constitution explicitly states that the congress's job is "To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;"
meaning that unless the Fed is under complete congressional oversight it's unconstitutional.

its the power of the bureaucracy and the ineptitude of an apathetic population.
If a majority of the people refuse to pay it, then that shows that the income tax doesn't represent the will of the people, therefore is an invalid law. Technicalities fall to the wayside when the wishes of the popular sovereign are illustrated.
The trouble is herding all the cats for this one cause.
If a PAC is created and the people join it. that might do the trick.

By currency what I meant was M3, which is the total amount of money in the economy.
Interest is the fee that is paid to borrow assets.
The government borrows money from the "quasi-public, quasi-private" Fed bank and pays it interest on the loaned money.
