I was in All-State that year and 2008!! David Rayl from Univ. of Michigan was the conductor this year, I think.

I miss this so much. I might have to switch back to a music major next semester. Z. Randall Stroope (who conducted the choir in 2008!) actually said you'd know if you're cut out to major in music because even as far as years down the road, you'll find yourself inexorably drawn back to it. That's how I feel now.

We just saw them at the Luther College Weekend Experience. They were amazing, they had an excellent concert, and suckered me into buying two of their cds, plus i got my picture with Deshon! It was awesome.

I used to sing with Dashon in a Barbershop Quartet back in Cleveland. If anyone gets a chance, ask him to teach you a tag...something like "Run to the City of Refuge". It will make your head explode! Don't let him sing tenor though. It will make you look bad! LOL

cantus is a professional choir out of minneapolis mn. I have sang with them when they came to UW-Eau Claire and worked with us in the singing statesmen. They are amazing and great guys too.

Kudo's to you folks. Awesome performance of this glorious piece of worship. I performed this last year with the Silicon Valley Gay Men's Chorus in San Jose, California. We are a group of 50, but never more was I moved when I heard the 300 voice San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus do it some 5 years ago. Oh my god was it wonderful. Once again thank you for blessing me! ;-)

Yes, we do this number in B--tunes a great deal better in that key for TTBB. As far as the tempo, let the 50 member groups have at it at a slower tempo, with nine singers, it's better to keep it flowing. Check out our website or mypace:

i had the liberty to sing with them when they came to waverly , ia to sing with the high school. we sang with the college choir and cantus. best vocal group ever... they sang it differently and were in dress. it is VERY cool how the basses can sing so low... and the singing while looking at each other... very cool

I like the key they sing in. I am hearing B major, but I could be wrong. I think they could slow the tempo down more for dramatic effect. Overall it's a pretty good interpretation.
