He went to Thailand at 16 and practiced for about one or two years and came back to Japan and is doing kickboxing from then on. You should do some research about him if you really like him that much.

Where are you getting your information from? I found out by listening to what actually came out of his mouth and by reading the magazine which is a lot more accurate than some search sites.
