The state of mind itself depends on a host of factors. Looks like the specific factors in your case induced your state of mind in a way that you were able to enjoy the moment you are describing.

As we age, I believe the point is to gain. You hope to gain maturity, responsibility, experience. The point is to become a happy adult. It's sad that there are so many sad adults and I believe it's because they have lost just as much as they gained. They've lost their sense of joy, their imagination, their childish optimism. We're supposed to collect our identity through all stages of life. Our inner child is just as important as any other side of us. :)
