  • i'm trying to build a similar thing at the moment. the hardest part is determining the position of the gear stick. how have you overcome this problem? i'd love to see a step by step guide for this too.

    awesome.

  • Hi Krouchy very clever, I teach PIC at secondary school uk, I am interested to know how you tringger your inputs, do you have sensors / ptm switches located near the syncromesh, or a ptm on the top of your gear stick?

    cheers

  • hello!

    how are u!!!

can u send me to mail the schematic and the code?

i have a cbr 600rr and like to diy gear indicator!!!!

    thank u:)

  • hi, have you built by yourself?

if yes..where did you find schematic?

    thanks a lot!

  • Hi, i made it by self(schematic, program, etc..), and that is the easy part.

Connecting the pic to the gear stick(cos it's there that it's connected), that was the hard part.

If u like leave me ur email.

I'll be glad to help u!

  • very nice home made, can i have the scheme for my ninja 250R?

    thank you verymuch.

    rgds,

    teguh-indonesia

  • it won't work on a bike, cos it uses the gear stick to read the position

  • there's a datatool gear indicator that you can install to your bike though, it't fairly easy to install

  • maybe if you use an pote on the gear selector and a external a_/d converter or a bank of resistors with 2 opamps you can make it work on a bike. The potes will have to be small and you should waterproof the whole circuit

  • an encoder would be better.

  • but will it fit? .... absolute or incremental?. I'm saying cause I'm thinking about dong one for my bike!

  • absolute, so u can program the position :P and low resolution to save space :PP
