Great scene. I thought Kenny and Ginger were underutilised by the show. Ciji's death was a shock. They caved to fan pressure and reinstated Lisa Hartman the following season as Ciji's lookalike, and likewsie a singer Cathy Geary (initials C.G. - get it?) Too bad nice girl Cathy wasn't as interesting as Ciji.
Let's hear it for Miss Ginger Ward! Imho, Kim Lankford really tore this song up! Kenny and Ginger really go through some tough stuff in season 2 and/or 3. This was Ginger's best moment! Thanx for the 5 star posting!

I remember this episode when it first came on in the early 80's. I was shocked that they killed Ciji because she seemed poised to be a regular. Her character had so many plot possibilities.
Yes, but Lisa Hartman said she was only signed up for a "in at the start of the season and gone by the end of the season" character. But next season we got "C.G. Rush", her doppleganger.
I would like to know was this an original song? If not, who wrote and performed it?

This was it; the storyline that propelled "Knots Landing" into becoming a top 20 and eventually top 10 show.
I loved this song and Kim Lankford's performance was MUCH better than Lisa Hartman's version.

Why am I obsessed with this cheesy song? I can listen to it over and over...
I love at the end of the song when the camera pans in on the poster of Ciji's haunted face, and then fades into her dead body. Chilling.
