"Sea of Japan" is recognized globally. You can call it "East Sea" because the sea is located on the east side of Korean peninsular (So, it is ok to put "east sea" in brakets). But, for Chinese (Taiwanese), "East sea"（東海） means "East China Sea"　in the modern time..., So confusing. Why Korean govt wanna try to mix it up. It isn't related with colonialism here.
