It would be nice if everyone used bycicles as primary everyday transport. The only thing I don't like about the Dutch system is that bycicles and scooters ride along the same lane... I find it a little dangerous fot cyclists
@SantoRedentor on paper it is not dangerous as the scooters are only allowed to go 25kph. But in reality the scooters go too fast. So most Dutch agree with you. Scooters should mix with motorized traffic.
The Netherlands is one of the safest countries in the world, considering traffic injuries and deaths. Please remember this video has increased speed, the bikers have not.
don't be fooled people. though it may seem great and almost impossible for some non-dutchies, it's actually pure luck you don't see any small crashes. if you pay attention you'll see some people curse at each other for near misses and getting cut off which happens all the time. believe me most of em would rather drive a car if it was possible
@soundwave070 you don't know what you're talking about. I've lived there and now have to drive to work and get stuck in awful traffic here in the U.S. I'd much rather be cycling to work like these folks. And it's not luck. There are very few accidents.
@soundwave070 Not true, there are almost no accidents. Ppl are mostly cursing about ignorant bikers, not paying attention on others or rules. Like tourists ;)
@soundwave070 It is more than pure luck and collisions happen only very rarely. That is because people do watch where they are going. You have to have spatial/situational awareness if you want to ride with the Dutchies.
@soundwave070 It is possible for them to drive a car, but most Dutch people prefer a bike over a car because of traffic jams in the netherlands. The Netherlands has one of the biggest population densities in the world.Believe me there aren't that much accidents 'cause everybody watches carefuly what they do. So, would you prefer to drive a car and spend 1 hour at the same spot because of the traffic jam or take a bike and exercise yourself a little?
@soundwave070 crap talk. How can that be pure luck? Then their should be crashes. They all drive like 10/15km hour maximum on such a crossing. Enough time to respond
huh. watch the total time in this video at the bottom of the video then refresh the page.
weird huh!

@soundwave070 I'm curious why you think that driving a car is not possible for these people?

so the powered scooters can also take the bike routes to eh?
tropmonky 1 year ago
@tropmonky unfortunately yes. And it really doesn't help that those on the scooters are typically the biggest assholes ever.
