  • anyone else think pepe was a bit of a rapist ?

  • @kingofcouture1996 I did get that impression as I got older.

  • To tell ya the truth, before he started telling his story, my first was:

"Did he just finish or is his on breaktime?"

But at the end, my last thought was:

"Oh, it was just force then!" XD

  • generic comment

  • I wish i had someone to love me like that

  • Every Valentines Day, Pepe Le Pew's views goes up!

  • "I am a snake and you have charmed me, no?"

  • "Youvy Who, Baby! Youvy Who!"

"y'know, most men would get discouraged about now...fortunately for her, I am not most men" what a "amusant petit skunk " you are, Pepe! <3

  • how romantic Pepe' Le Pew was. Good childhood memories :D

  • This is probably the first time the female cat was named "Penelope" in the series, though a few later shorts would call her "Fabrette" or "Fifi" or something like that, her real name would always be Penelope from this point on.

And wouldn't Pepe know that smoking would probably make him smell even WORSE? :P

  • LOL hellz yeah ^^ france fangirl lol *smacks Austria's face*

  • Pepe' Le Pew is the ORIGIONAL France if u get the referance LOL

  • @sonicdxkid I do! What's up, Hetalia fan?

  • Oh Pepe...you're such a rapist!

  • @MOTHMAN225 noooo he's charming

  • @MOTHMAN225 and doesn't understand that she doesn't want him XD

  • @HollowPointzz

    Pepe's not a Class "A" Rapist...

    He's a Class "A" Stalker

  • I think they may be saying something about French people...

  • @Brennan75 They are, but this is actually Chuck Jones making fun of fellow writer Tedd Pierce (who, like Pepe, liked to hit on women and was constantly rejected) and himself (Jones didn't consider himself a winner with women when he was younger).

  • -pops cork off bottle, cork flies away, walks over to ice bucket, puts bottle in ice pulls cork from cloth ,sticks cork back on bottle-. now how did he get the cork back that quick to the cloth? more so why has he spare corks just lying around?

  • computer sooooo slowwwwww

  • Whenever I see penelope running I always yell RUN Forest RUN!

  • I can't get over the look on the cat's face when Pepe is kissing her! It's like "HELP!"

  • I miss these cartoons!!... idk why people keep saying they're not for kids?? Kids back then didnt have such a perverted mind as kids do now back then our interest was playing and just having fun, now a days kids know and are interested in drugs, sex, violence and that crap.. and to top it off they're really rude! Years passed by and its a whole different generation... :)

  • "...idk why people keep saying they're not for kids??" -- Cuz they weren't. The people who made the cartoons even said that they made them for themselves (and then released them to a general audience [read: an audience consisting of kids and adults of all ages]). Plus, back then, the writers and animators like to play "What are we gonna get past the Hays Office today?" just to please the adults in the audience while the kids remain blissfully unaware of the joke until they grow older.

  • Pepe le pervert.

  • @TMountainroad Quit being such an f-ing pansy! It's because of pussies like you that these cartoons are nolonger broadcast.

  • 5:04 poor cat tumbles down stairs lol

  • People keep commenting that these are kid's cartoons, but they were never meant that way. Recent generations associate the classic WB or MGM cartoons with being on kids' channels or on Sat morning, but these were high-budget productions to be shown in theaters before the feature. Therefore, they were intended to entertain kids AND adults on many levels, and managed to do so without being crude. In fact, they were more expensive to make per frame than movies, which is eventually what killed them.

  • @kqr573v2 That's what I've been saying all along (that these cartoons aren't meant for kids despite being marketed as such).

  • Im pretty sure this is where SNL got the idea for "The Continental" as well.

  • Do you have any idea how many people have said this? A lot, and it *is* true, but there really was a show called "the Continental" that aired in the early days of TV. Because it was so short-lived (it lasted from 1950 to 1952; this cartoon came out in 1954), a lot of people don't remember it -- except for the comedy writers who parody the show and its character, TV historians, fans of 50s TV, and Christopher Walken himself, who actually remembered the show and suggested that SNL do the sketch.

  • @The4EverYoung85 Ha so i looked it up and it seems that this episode of Pepe le Pew was actually somewhat based on "The Continental" of 1952!

  • I am a snake and you have charmed me, no?

  • LOL wow...this can't be a kids cartoon...

  • @aby4111 It's not. For too long (ever since the Looney Tunes were put into syndication on TV), they have been marketed as kiddie fare (especially on American TV; I don't know how the rest of the world markets them) and, as a result, a lot of cartoons have either been edited to pieces or banned. This cartoon had the entire beginning cut when it aired on ABC (yet the obvious bondage references at the end were untouched. Go freakin' figure).

  • @The4EverYoung85 OH alright sweet. Thanks for the info :)

  • @aby4111 kids are pussies these days. these are real cartoons.

  • @MrLalva1 hmm i know this one for sure is too mature for them but i somewhat agree with you. The story plot for cartoons today have no substance.

  • "We can spend the rest of our lives making love!"

If only I knew what this meant back then.

  • "You have never looked more..." what ?

    "These americans girls..." what ?

  • @CrYsT4LCl4wS "These American girls, always on the go."

"You have never looked more ravishing."

  • "We can spend the last of our lives making LOOOVVVEEE!"

For the last moment of my life, I wouldn't mind that!

  • No means no Pepe...

  • cutest french guy ever, sooooo charming i love himmmmm

  • penelope somehow always manages to get paint on herself lol

  • Poor Penelope! Reduced to a sex slave.

  • My girfriend loves this episode. She wont go to sleep without watching it.! lol

  • @justintloomis1983 is she hot?

  • woahhh they're smoking haha you don't find that in cartoons now-a-days

  • u no wat does kill me dead pepe married an a chase nuff fur tru French man lol

  • Anyone who thinks rape is not hilarious has clearly never seen these shows.

  • I find it funny how in old cartoons, they allow smoking and terms of "Making love". XD I love Pepe !!

  • realy funny and classic

  • Why is Pepé french? There are no skunks in europe (or africa, or most of asia)...anyway, his "french" is hilarious.

  • @forgetfullandstuff because of france has good perfumes and skunks stink

  • I wanna see that episode when at the end

The cat winds up actin like him. If you know

What episode that is, hit me up.

  • @Addiskrilla There's three of them: For Scentimental Reasons (1949), Little Beau Pepe (1952), and Really Scent (1959). Take your pick.

  • I never realized Christopher Walken's "The Continental" was Pepe Le Pew, but now I understand why I am so smitten with him. :)

  • the good days when cartoon skunks smoked and drank alcohol and chained up females... lol i love pepe!!! *le sigh*

  • @Cuteblondchick72 oh, okay... it seems like pepe's biggest flaw was his smell... otherwise he seemed somewhat suave, although he does come across a little bit strong on occasion ;D I just figured that pepe would get a little more action if he wore some cologne or something... or maybe went under the knife if you know what i mean...

  • @Cuteblondchick72 did they have severe BO or something?

  • This comment will get random thumbs up,no?

  • Love the name "cats bah." Suave Pepe at his stalker best.

  • Is this where Christopher Walken got the inspiration of his character in those skits he was in SNL or something?

  • @mgg121288able Yes, but in the early days of TV (the 1950s), there was an actual show called "The Continental" that was similar in format to the beginning of this cartoon (and the recurring SNL sketch). The show itself was short-lived (it got canceled in 1952), but the parodies of it (such as the beginning of this cartoon and the SNL sketch) have lived on forever.

  • @mgg121288able I would not be surprised....^_^

  • l'amour pepe le pew ^o~

  • I love you...noh

  • Intimate noh?

  • Sometimes you gotta take the pussy like pepe!

  • i like how he says we can spend the rest of our lives making love lol and i like the look on the cats face when hes kissing her

  • Any chance you could upload this cartoon again? This sound quality is a bit lacking, I can't hear Pepe Le Pew!!!!!!!

  • u know i always loved this cartoon but JEEEZZZZUUUSSS!!! this skunk at the end is just plain wronngg!! lmaooooooooo none the less fucking love loony tunes!!!

  • Classic Class "A" Rapist.

  • @HollowPointzz You know we are all sorry for whatever your father has done to you and for every time your uncle tried to touch you, but don't take it out here on a simple funny cartoon whom we all enjoyed when we were kids... Pepe le Pew did not do that to you sweetheart! And calling him a class A rapist is simply a proof that you are nothing but an extremist feminist; hence, I can say you are a class A cultural terrorist and a class A fundamentalist! Seriously... GET A LIFE!!!!

  • Imagine if Pepe thought Wile E Cyote was a skunk.

  • @boru25 There's a tiny toon version for that where Fifi Le Fume chases Calamity Coyote

  • C'mon Penelope don't be a milky kitty.

  • pepe no pepe

    smoking is bad

  • @Dortizr160 This was made back when people didn't get into a hissyfit about smoking in the media.

  • haha Love how he breaks the 4th wall! (addresses the audience like everyone watching is a cartoon character who can really interact with him)

  • Dave Chapelle: Take it easy Pepe!

  • QUELLE SEDUCTEUR

  • God after 10 whole years since cartoon network

  • Oh my God! This MUST have been the inspiration for Christopher Walken's "The Continental"!

  • @RoxanneJ81 Actually, there *was* a TV show called "The Continental" starring Rezno Cesana that aired in the early 1950s (between 1950 and 1952). It didn't last long, but its parodies did (i.e. this and the SNL sketch), which led to people remembering the parody more than the actual show (on TVTropes, this is either The Weird Al Effect or Seinfeld is Unfunny [when something revolutionary becomes a joke due to derivative works])

  • @RoxanneJ81 YEAH! I thought the exact same thing!

  • "We can spend the rest of our lives making love!" Jesus Christ, how did I miss comments like those when I was little?! This guy really was after the pussy!

  • @GHZoner "Making love" used to mean a rather diffferent thing back in the 1950's. There's an infamous line in C.S. Lewis's Narnia books where a girl "makes love" to all the giants in a castle, for example.

Ofcourse it might already have been a double entrende when this cartoon was made.

  • i wonder how the owner reacted to this when she found out that the kitty was gone..XD

  • @MintoStar101 I wonder how the owner would react if she knew where her cat was O_O

  • XD

  • @catangel911 she knows where her cat is NOW. lol

  • This would probably never be allowed on TV for children if it was made today. A shame in our hypersensitive censorship culture

  • @DELPHIIII -- You're right, though I remember in the 1990s, Nickelodeon aired the Pepe cartoons. Network TV didn't (save for "Odor of the Day" -- which was an Arthur Davis cartoon that didn't have Pepe as we know him and maybe an edited version of "For Scentimental Reasons"), but Nickelodeon had all the ones made after 1949 (like this one, Scentimental Romeo, right up to the last one in 1962). And Cartoon Network aired all of them too, but not now.

  • @The4EverYoung85 Le thank you!

  • je taime!

  • Can somebody list the names of songs Pepe is singing?

  • @maciekur As time goes by :)

  • "We can spend the rest of our lives making love..."

WTF??? I can't believe we used to watch this as children.

  • @aveyowyns I know! But for most kids, myself included, this kind of humor went over our heads and it wouldn't really make any sense until you got older.

  • lmfao I always love the look on the cat's face when Pepe is kissing her. It's like "help me!"

  • i wonder sometimes i always thought penelope/whatsername was like 15. so he always looked like a sex offender...

  • jeez.....what a sociopath!! wait, would that be accurate, or should I just say psychopath?

  • @TheSailormoon200 -- LOL!!

  • 5:11 LOL hahahaha

  • did he say make love right away? hahaha

  • "Most men would get discouraged right now...fortunately for her I'm not most men".

    Pepè is brilliant ahahah

  • lol! " le hiss, hiss"

  • @ihopeutubedies I rewinded that like 5 times!!!!!!!

  • Pepe was the first adult cartoon. He smoked, drank, and sexually harassed women. He's AWESOME.

  • I always wonder what's going through Penelope's head when she is trapped in Pepe's over-affectionate embrace...

  • I wonder if Christopher Walken studied this for The Continental on SNL? lol

  • "If you're a camel you soon learn to put up with anything."

"Le hiss. Hiss. I am a snake and you have charmed me, no?"

  • how is it demented for cartoons to smoke cigarettes? isn't demented a little over exaggerating?

  • Very echoey. But cool :D

  • Thanx for uploading!!
