I just did this in a 5 man random group of players in the mid 50s with my(at the time) 56 warlock. Had a good tank, took three tries but not too hard, no special gear or anything, just a normal group with characters in all greens and dungeon blues. We had a druid healer for dots and combined pally/mage/warlock aoe took them down pretty fast, just a matter of staying alive.

1. The achievement just says you have to kill small welps, it doesn't even have to be in an instance, the counting down starts as you kill your first dragon welp.
