I love the smell of bacon in the morning, we don't eat much bacon cause of the fat. So when we get some we savor the flavor. So you forgot your jacket and a percolator, one of these days your going to shock us by not forgetting anything lol.
yup, looked a little bit like the morning after with the beer can in the chair. brekfast did look good and does make one miss the good old camping days of lore. asiago, nice ! go make some coffee quig style ! what no percolator !
Cindy sure likes her Asiago, but I find Cheddar to be adequate... I finally got the correct grind of coffee bean for the percolator, so I will definitely be bringing it next time!
I like this kind of boring. I haven't been camping in ages so I can live through you and watch you camp. Keep it up! I never get tired of you guys cooking eggs outside and all the rest of it.
I'm the one who needs to learn everything the hard way so that I will never forget... I tried percolating Italian coffee at home, and all of it ended up in the bottom of the percolator, including the grounds LOL I have the proper grind now, and can't wait to try it out in the percolator... Rob, we eat vegetables every day but never on camera.
Shhhhhh! Don't let Cindy know there's peppers in there! She claims to hate peppers and scoops them out of everything that she knows contains them :) :)
@fehquig ovaltine is actually beneficial for minerals which most people lack.the original is the one i use,2 teaspoons ovaltine 1 sugar cane brown sugar.plus i use krakus polish beet root chicory roasted barley and rye,its very good for me, im wound up constantly and like coffee so i switched it up. i guess i havent seen you in yrs,i saw you once at safeway and said fequig you looked.im a night bird,im all over town ebike between low blood sugars, coffee shop meeting one night for sure.
No I'm not a morning person either having breakfast made for you certainly helps you wake up in a brighter mood. Nice product placement haha. Nobody boils water like you Andy, you are the man. : )
I wanted to go camping every two weeks like we did in recent summers, but it's working out to about once a month this year. We will go out there and shoot some more footage two or three more times this year, and there's still some left from this last trip that I still need to work on...
This campground is on Pender Island in British Columbia. It's called Prior Centennial Park, and is part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, so it's kind of like a State Park, but it's in Canada and the park is Federal...
You just gotta be creative when you're camping - no matter how well you plan, something will either be forgotten or not work as planned! :) I have an old enamel percolator for use on the stove, bbq or fire, but also have a back up melita filter. That works nicely IF I bring the filters. Try popping those eggs and bacon into a tortilla for a nummy meal that requires no plates or forks! Good stuff. Looked really good and the island is lovely!
That tortilla solution is something we should try because we both don't enjoy doing dishes, but we tend to shy away from flour-based fixes because of the carbs and diabetes. I got a new enamel percolator last year, and I finally went to the supermarket last week and custom-ground the beans to the right coarseness. I will try it out on the next camping trip. If it doesn't work out there's always the instant coffee that's been in the camping box for the last three years :)
@fehquig Yeah - true about the carb thing. We don't have diabetes but do get the whole grain ones for dietary reasons. Lots to choose from here in LA.
That must be "Canadian bacon"! I shouldn't have watched this on an empty stomach! I can smell that bacon in my mind. Man, those loaded eggs looked tastey! If you don't want to use a filter- when the coffee boils drop an egg in there and it'll catch the grounds. I hope you get a check for that product placement.
The packaging probably proudly proclaimed, "Product of Canada." I will check to be sure next time :)
That's an interesting way to get rid of the grounds. Now you got me smelling the bacon and tasting the eggs again... It must be telepathy with a time delay LOL
damn i could go for a piece of that bacon. for xmass i got orion a tube of bacon flavored lip balm, a container of 'emergency bacon' and a cool shirt that spells bacon out with the periodic chart :) yes he loves bacon too lol
i just taught mike how to make coffee, he is very pleased with himself
Bacon flavored lip balm? Yuck and Eeyew LOL Where were you when I was trying to figure out camping coffee? I think I finally got it worked out now. I have the percolator and I have the coarse-ground coffee, so all I need to do is go camping again and make it work. The finer grind Italian stuff seems to work well in the drip coffee maker, so I will save it for at home...
