  • where did you get the grip sleeves from?

  • @rayhollerrr They are pearce grip sleeve from MidwayUSA. They are around $15.

  • @doctruptwn oh sweet deal. thanks. thats a good looking 1911. btw what made you decide the 2011 full rail instead of the tradition dust cover?

  • @rayhollerrr No reason it was just a model that I didn't have, I have several 1911's

  • stab that dog plz. thank you

  • @turboturtle22 There have been a few times I have though very seriously about it. Finally starting to get some of the puppy out of him.

  • i like the 'new' trigger. nice contrast, works like a good accent should.

  • beautiful gun! i like the polished trigger too. you deffinately made up my mind about getting this gun. great vid!

  • I like the polished trigger, would be interesting to see it with the polished hammer.

  • great series on the 2011 RIA

  • Did you polish your barrel? I got mine 3 days ago and my barrel is black..

  • @apoptoliptic Yes I did, Never have liked a black barrel. I usually polish them. The WWII pistols are the only ones I have left the finish on.

  • @doctruptwn Can you recommend a bit for my dremel to polish off the black finish, I don't have a bench grinder. I like the mirror finish as well. I'm assuming some flitz will help the overall look. Thx

  • @BIGDEZUL Use the white felt wheels and the Flitz. That will do the job. If you can fine some 1000 grit sand paper and use it before the Flitz it will speed up the process.

  • As a retired Mercedes benz tech i always like to see guns taken apart and reassembled. Thank you.

  • Your the man!! I've asked you questions, have picked your brain and you have always responded.....thank you!

  • cool :)

  • Good series. Very interesting. Thanks.

  • You make it look simple , when you think of all the parts that go into a 1911 pistol , it is amazing how it is still PROBABLY THE MOST POPULAR SIMI-AUTO PISTOL OUT THERE , after all this time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great video , even when you got stuck with the mag release button you still showed us how to think back step by step to see what could be wrong .

Other reviewers would have just EDITED that bit out , good for you sir , keeping it real .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Figure14HH Keep an eye out next week for the essex 1911 rescue 5 part series. it gets seriously invovled, still finishing up production now.

  • great vid series thanks ive learned a lot

  • i love those grips man, im thinking on getting one and polishing everything but the frame
