Here is a Demo worth Proving.... Get a stock JCM 800 2203 (1981 - 1986 Model), Set the Pre amp on 10, Set the Master on 8 and run it through the "Ultimate Attenuator" at a Moderate Bedroom level.... Use a Gibson Les Paul as its a well known combined sound...... I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THE RESULT AS I'M SURE MANY OTHERS OUT THERE WOULD TOO! SO there's a challenge! IF it cuts the mustard......... I'm buying one..... its that simple.
SAVE YOUR MONEY! I bought an "ultimate" attenuator and spent close to $600 for it. After about 3 weeks it just stopped working. I e-mailed the company and was just given worthless, short suggestions that didn't work. I LOST $600ON THIS GIMMICK, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST ROLL THE VOLUME DOWN ON YOUR GUITAR, IT'S THE SAME EFFECT AS THIS GLORIFIED CABLE BOX ANYWAYS.
The UA is just a licensed design and is made in China now... do what most people are doing and order it from the guy who created the thing in Canada "HO". You're not the first person to have issues with china made ones...
@DrowningInDrones Hi. The UA is made in China and is licensed. There are some significant upgrades however to the original aluminum enclosure. It's now all steel so more roadworthy and will last much longer. There have been no more issues with the current asian UA in comparison with the Canadian built and has some definite advantages such as a money back guarantee and a lifetime warranty.
@ditchpigg I offer a money back guarantee and a lifetime warranty. I also offer suggestions to help users. Please contact me if there is a problem. Thanks, Mark Gregg.
Thats not what attenuators are for. They are for allowing full saturation on higher watt amps at a drastically lowered level. Rolling off your volume on the guitar is going to decrease gain and some volume, we dont want that...we want the saturation at low levels
why dont they just make tubes amps with the master volume as an atennuator if you know what i mean? the tubes always get maximum power and the master volume is an attenuator so dont have to spend 800$ on one of these?
thanks for ALL that you do -- the demos, the lessons, the reviews, the mods, etc. -- thanks for freely distributing that wealth of info -- so how about the "ultimate attenuator" -- is it the "ultimate" indeed? and have you messed with the "ultimate amp" at all?
Sounds really nice. What's your opinion on Edwards Les Pauls? As good as Gibson's Reissues? Or close? Edwards seems to pay more attention to the Les Paul than Gibson does on their Standard models.
nah, I wouldn't say it's better. The quality control is better but I still think there's a teeny bit of magic missing that I hear in the Gibson in terms of sustain in the upper register. However, the edwards is killer for the price.

Quick and dumb:
Can you silence your plexi to 'Ten o' clock the neighbours are gonna kill me if I play' - level when you boost the power amp?
Can you still hear yourself while having the most beatiful crunch of electric guitar history?
Thank You!
