  • How did they manage to breathe? Were there airholes? But then wouldn't the spheres deflate?

  • kool?

  • You know what's really cool about these?! They have no practical uses! Isn't it just awesome that we make stuff like this to just waste the planets resources?

  • @Battezu If you're so concerned about waste, why waste resources powering a computer to watch random videos online, or even *gasp* play video-games? Every form of human entertainment is an attempt to escape from bleak, boring practicality by giving us something more pleasant to look and think on.. Saying that these bubbles should be shunned because they "have no practical uses" is tantamount to saying that all forms of art and culture, from the Mona Lisa to YouTube, are pointless wastes.

  • @RyanB2112 I do much more than watch random videos online. Yes, I do do that and also play games, but that's not the same as making a giant ball out of plastic that has *gasp* no use. Other than walking around in one I'm pretty sure that you can't come up with any uses. And, comparing these things to art like the Mona Lisa, and entertainment like Youtube is like apples to chairs. Also, I am willing to continue a reasonable discussion with you on this, but only if you are willing to be calm too.

  • @Battezu Okay, you've obviously missed my point here, so allow me to rephrase. The balls are *props*, something to be used by performance artists to add to the uniqueness, whimsy, and overall entertainment of their productions. YouTube is a hosting site whose only entertainment value comes from the artists that upload their videos here, not the site itself. As for the Mona Lisa, all it does is hang on a wall and look interesting, without any "practical" uses. Just how is that "apples to chairs"?

  • @RyanB2112 Yes, Youtube is just a hosting site, but it actually brings entertainment unlike these balls that just have these people rolling around in them. And the Mona Lisa is art and something that has feeling and emotion behind it, unlike these which are just hunks of plastic. Therefore, apples to chairs, seeings as they don't relate to each other in an way other than they're objects. This isn't art and culture, just a random little thing that doesn't have a use.
