It is very disappointing to me, that there even has to be an amendment that prohibits taxpayer money to fund abortions. We, as a people, as a country, should be protecting the sanctity of all human life. It is very sad that this discussion is even happening. I understand there is a long waiting list for qualified couples who want to adopt new-born babies. Not supporting abortion is not a conservative principle, it's a moral one. There are many Democrats who don't support abortion as can be noted by the Stupak amendment. Abortion is the taking of a human life, the baby is not part of a woman's body, it is a separate entity. It's bad enough that abortion is still legal, it would be a disgrace to use taxpayer' money to fund such a despicable act!
