Tribes 2 was the best fps growing up. My friend would come over, and bring his PC, and me and my brother had our own PC's so we would set up a lan game, and we would play Katabatic 16vs16 and had the bots on Hard. It was always fun... we didn't play online because by then noone played online :(

Vivendi shut the official servers in 2008 or 2009. Fortunately, there is a thing called TribesNext which is just Tribes 2 with a patch which allows online functionality once again. Since you have Tribes 2 already, you only need to download multiplayer patch.

Whats funny about Tribes is that the graphics may be dated, but the player movement and animations are so smooth compared to the klunky choppy movment of todays eye candy games.

@stockjonebills That's beacause the game interpolates the movement , so the server has to guess where the player's positions gonna be next and it smoothly moves the player there , but if you hit the player and the server was wrong you hit a rubber bullet (you see hitting him but you don't hit him beacause he's not there) .

That's why some people with high ping use interpolation , at high ping the server interpolates too much so you need to use it to see where your enemy actualy is .
