  • This film is Roger Moore, the greatest Bond IMO, at his peak

  • Roger Moore is older than Sean Connery so to be honest he really only had about 3 Bond movies in him. After "The spy who loved me" the studio should have called time on Roger. Instead a combination of bad writing an an ageing Roger turned Bond films into "Carry On" films with their sexual innuendo and slapstick humour. I have been a Bond fan for many years, and only found my faith again with Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. Great story with a believable Bond.

  • @calvinoespiranto It's a great story because it's an actual fleming. Maybe if the productions stuck to his stories, especially back when they would've been okay, so, throughout the 60's and some of the 70's, then most of them would be alright. They needed someone to carry bond through the 70's and that's what Rog did. When he wanted to go, they gave him a lot of money to stay. And you saying that Rog turned them into Carry On films is just crap. That would also be the productions &writers fault.

  • @calvinoespiranto I don't want a believeable Bond. Since when were any of the previous Bond films believeable? I don't want a politically correct Bond either. Moore and Connery will always be the best.

  • this is much better than the slow version.

  • where are you, Roger Moore?! I miss him as Bond, wish I was around in the 70's/80's! Love Bond, Roger by far is my favourite<3

  • @MiamiInHorror ...yes NOTHING BEATS ROGER:p

  • On My First Fishing Trip on a Fishing Boat in 1984, I thought of the Awesome Boat Chase in Moonraker on the way to the Boat Ramp. I had that at teh back of my Mind. Whe nwe were out in te hBay speeding around between Fishing areas, I wondered how and where the Depth Charge Launchers an Torpedo Bays would be on a 1966 Glaspar Cuddy Cabin Boat : )

  • @Roadracer987654321 as a young boy in 1977 (9 years old) we would watch Bond films after school in the main hall. Every time after the film finished the teachers would have to cope with 50 little Bonds, 50 Little Bond girls and 100 Baddies re-enacting the film outside the gates. Happy days indeed.

  • Holly Goodhead: "James, take me around the world one more time,"

    James Bond: "Why not?" ;)

  • any of the so called 'bond fans' who come here disrespecting this mighty film can kneel down and suck it!

  • @realscience1

lol...agree... this is one of my favorites..

  • yeah whatever im not here to read about the movie, i like this song! her voice is beautiful in it with that echo effect and the music is real nicely done!

  • Personally, I liked all James Bond movies, even the latest ones, wich are closer to the Sean Connery style...but it does seem that Mr Craig isn't having fun with it...James Bond is everybody's dream...We all want to be like him (even Ian Flemming)...But Mr Craig is making him too human...By the way Dame Bassey should do the next theme song...

  • @kidneydisney Yeah, that first kill was a bit sloppy :)

  • @kidneydisney Couldn't agree more with the dame doing the next theme song. I read Ian Fleming meant Bond to be a more romanticized version of himself. Mr. Fleming contributed a lot to his country. I think in the military service.

  • One shit thing about this film.....why did it have to be Jaws' last appearance!

    Other than that, fantastic film!

  • goddamn shitty pitbull adverts >:(

  • Forgot to correct myself on the public part of youtube. I liked Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Never saw the Lazenby one... For some reason I didn't see Quantum of Solace yet. I have difficulty leaving the past.

Will the classy nature of this vid ever come back to society? Or maybe it still exists in Europe? I'm from the States.

  • My best Bond vote goes to the latest - Daniel Craig. I just find a rougher more cynical Bond more believable (though less faithful to Flemings original character). I'd like to see some of the earlier movies remade with Daniel - now that would be something to get my attention

  • I thought Sean Connery was the best Bond but my personal favorite is Roger Moore.

  • beautiful song! :)

  • This is the End Credits version of the Theme Song from Moonraker not the slow-ballad version at the beginning of the movie!

  • R.I.P. John Barry :(

  • First Bond film with stuntmen credited. Only eight, but still...

  • This "remastered version" is just an horror ! Let's enjoy the real old version without this disco rythm jam...

  • @erikosvassos Eh, I've gotten to enjoy the more dated stuff like this. However, if you really hate this, stay away from "Bond '77" from Hamlisch's score for "Spy Who Loved Me."

  • @ignoranceandwant NO! dont stay away from "Bond 77" its great, and it succecfully updated the bond theme for the seventies :)

  • @ Klottelitsch touche man...this, spy who loved me, live and let die...they can't be beaten

  • It's hard to choose which is the worst bond film but I don't like pierce brosnan or George lazenby so there bond films sucked. My fave bond is roger Moore cus he's the first bond actor I watched then it's sean Connery.

I love live and let die and the spy who loved me and the man with the golden gun.

For your eyes only is good too

  • The boat chase scene on the Amazon River was actually filmed near my house in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I still remember standing outside the garage one crisp, beautiful morning and hearing the explosions, one after the other. Afterward, the boats' charred hulls were left beached at the Port St. Lucie Marina for anyone driving down PSL Blvd to look over and see. Nearby Sandpiper Bay was renamed "Moonraker Bay".

  • @danzamphi And the bike chase in The Spy Who Loved Me was filmed at Capo Caccia, near Alghero, where I spend my holidays (I am from Sardinia :P ). While the Lotus coming from the sea to the beach scene was filmed in 1976 at Palau,North Sardinia,a little far from Alghero and Sassari (my town).

  • well said petshopmod

  • Sigh. Great memories this movie evokes. When I was young, my dad took me to see Bond films (Roger Moore) era. I saw this when it came out in theaters when I 16. I immediately had a crush on Holly. But overall, I really enjoyed the the movie.

When I upgraded my home system to HD, Moonraker was one of the first titles that I bought. It's been remastered and looks gorgeous. The soundtrack is just as noteworthy and still gets decent rotation. Bond without John Barry wouldn't be the same.

  • so unbelievable good soundtrack and actors and script!

today they only do some kind of handy game action movie replica shit!

  • This is one of the best Bond songs, but behind Shirley Bassey's Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever. Only two songs can be considered in the same category, Nancy Sinatra's You Only Live Twice and Tina Turner's Goldeneye.

As for all comments on YouTube about Moonraker being underrated. One stat that is not subject to oprinion is that Moonraker held the highest Bond movie box office worldwide gross of $210,300,000 until Goldeneye. Moonraker was Roger Moore's best Bond movie by far.

  • I don't know how anyone can HATE todays bond movies. D. Craig has me watching Bond films again! I think he's a fantastic James Bond and a great actor. Roger Moore will always be my favorite but thats just because he was the Bond of my generation growing up. Moonraker was one of his best IMHO.

  • @funkeytoad08 I dont see Why you stopped watching bond films? Pierce Bronson Was a Great Actor Although Die Another Day was a failure i think Golden Eye Was the pinnacle of Bond!

  • This is such a great version of the theme. Love the opening! Oh why cant we make films with great soundtracks anymore. Its all crap CGI movies today with vintage music soundtracks. Sadly the genius talents of Ennio Morricconne, John Barry and John Williams have not been succeeded.

  • the fuckin best of the best mate

  • super james bond

  • one of my favorite james bond !

  • This is equal to Bonds DB4 Aston an all time classic!!!!!

  • I cant accept the synthetical Bond actors after Connery and Moore....

  • @Pnoerre I thought Timothy Dalton was at least pretty good. I would have preferred for him to stay with the franchise for more films. The first two Bonds were the best to me as well.

  • @youtoo5ify errr first two were Sean Connery and George Lasenby. Lasenby was given the boot after one film as he was so bad. But if you liked him thats up to you.

  • @madabbafan Lazenby wasn't exceptionally bad, he just wasn't Connery. The reason he did only one Bond was due his manager not wanting him wasting his time with genre that was dying (his opinion) and Georges problems in real life. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is not a bad movie.

  • @madabbafan Lazenby was actually a good choice for Bond, but wasn't given a good chance cause back then, he was under the impression that he had to become another Sean Connery type to play Bond, and that didn't work. He could have been an excellent Bond, but wasn't given a fair shake. Oh well, that's history.

  • Superb!!! THIS IS TRUE HANDMADE BOND QUALITY

NOT THESE CHEAP TRICK PC GAME SPECIAL EFFECTS

  • movie underrated - agree fully

jaws overrated - but works ok here

the more fluid bond girl got killed - so sad

    ...

but i much like and prefer the original theme intro because it sets the romantic mood of this particular movie so well, just like John Barry's theme did for The Deep...

  • YEAH!, found the Moonraker theme to be quite slow, which I like, but it doesn't present the pace of the movie as well, I find this to be absolutely amazing. It Shows the pace of the movie, not too fast but not too slow, it's a good prep and wish this version was used for the titles, Because it would set you up well for what was coming up, a GREAT underrated Bond Film.

  • luv it!

  • For me the moonraker theme is the most underrated score the franchise will evr have. Very close to Surrender from TND....

  • totally agree @ohraider extremely underrated

  • I think I love the disco version even moore, the other version sure is beautiful, but this is how the movie is supposed to open, with a kickass tune!

  • Remix so good !!

    I like it ! :)

  • Good job, at least one good disco remix, and the spirit of the song stay the same !

  • mm good song but hal davids lyrics are a bit nonscencical really

  • This brings back sooo many childhood memories. Like this song, life so much more happier.

  • @PetShopMod I liked Jaws as his adversary he was quite fearful...music was good and I did like Roger Moore as James Bond...he was British didn't the man that played Jaws die? ...

  • IT works well with both versions but I think this definately has the edge

  • ive found someone to lov and hold

  • So have I.

  • I absolutely adore this disco version.

  • many thnx m8 xx

  • very soulful and power ful voice

this reminsd me of my love chhavi pandey

  • Love it. Can't decide if I like ot more or as much as the opening version. It makes it look like one of the Pierce Brosnan Bond films.

  • Yeah, this actually makes the opening credits watchable! Thank you!

  • This movie made asians watch James Bond! It's great and so futuristic! Everything is so plastic and lazerlike!

  • Yeah, I think the same as you! Great..

  • This is the cool End titles "disco" version! Love it!

  • the great shirley basseys all time best song!!! it doesnt get any better than this!

  • gosh, i alway loved that version. and the movie and the soundtrack of the film..

  • yo can you send me this song, i cant find it anywhere

  • Since I saw the movie for the first time, in 1990, I've always thought: why didn't they put the version of this song which is in the ending credits as the main version or even as the only version? This one is much better. I like this clip very much.

  • Comment removed

  • And that's where you erred. You think we all agree.

  • Shirley Bassey - what a singer!!! Total class.

  • love this song! is very romantic :D. Waiting my true love with that sound...

  • Sigh...the space battle...lmao...

  • Some DJ seriously should remix this song...i think it could be a good one.

  • well, roger moore was best bond!

  • To jest najlepszy odcinek z James Bondem. Piosenka sama w sobie nadaje temu filmowi niepowtarzalny charakter! The best!

  • Zgadzam sie w 100%!!

  • Great mix! :D

  • fool it says it's the end titles on the opening. This version of the song IS REAL and at the end of the film

  • beautiful inspired to 007 james bond movies! in early 70's i love this!

  • Todays Bond movies suck completely compared with these GREAT handmade classics, they just cant afford this excellent quality annmore.

  • you are so right, the last 2 bond films were pathetic. And i think after Sean Connery and Roger moore movies which had an exotic element in it,todays bond movies are just like any other normal action movies, just completly lacks classism.God give us those old days back please..

  • I personally loved CR and QOS, but I agree with you about the "exotic" element, which has been missing from the Bond films for years now.

  • God plz bring back da fresh 70's

    =D

  • Yes todays Bond movies have a commercia spot taste I cant watch the movies, they have

a kind of action game feeling...modern Bond soundtrack sucks too

  • So true! Even the worst James Bond classic is better by far than anything today.

  • Eh, even though I don't like Craig as an actor and the realism element of Brosnan's last film I think Brosnan's first three were entirely appropriate to the generation in the 90's and 2000's. What do you think 40 - 50 - 60 year olds were saying about Moonraker and the earlier Connery films? They wouldn't think it's classy or cool at all in comparison to what they grew up with.

  • I completely agree with you on Brosnan's first three films; they were all good- DAD was atrocious.

  • @Klottelitsch I agree, I've never really been into the James Bond films becuase I've only seen a couple of the latest ones and I have never thought they were any good but they have started showing all the old ones on a tv station over here and they are way better than the ones today.

  • @Klottelitsch Fuck you. Moonraker was the worst bond movie ever. Many critics think so too. Casino Royale was a fantastic new spin on the classic. Sure quantum of Solace sucked though. Daniel Craig makes a great bond.

  • @TejasM14

compared to modern cheap " fake-action without a true story behind it" trash

the Bond movie Moonraker is a fantastic secret agent story combined with Sci Fi

aspects, just wonderfull! Daniel Craig is only a mediocre actor just like 1 Million other actors out there...in a few years nobody will remember this guy!

    No Charisma!

  • @TejasM14

the critics also dumped classical Bogart movies back in their time...today

these movies are classics and regarded as some of the best ever!

  • @TejasM14 Moonraker is fucking awesome.

  • @Klottelitsch

no it just now a day there give them 2 much money so they just relay on special effects and cgi bullshit for movies now adays

  • @Klottelitsch maybe it died with ian flemming?

  • where can one buy a CD with this Power Version of this best bond song ever?

  • This version is on the 'Moonraker' CD

Easy to find on amazon etc

  • ****special-moments*****thanks**youtube***and for posting****

  • Shirley Bassey is incredible singer... Only person I know who does the right job on the Bond movies!!! I love this theme song for the Bond Movies... Thank you for posting it.

    David

  • This song rocks... best vocalist.. and the coolest 70's beats...

Still a sexy song after all these years...

  • The best piece music of the whole film!

  • I've never seen this film. Does anyone know when it's coming on tv?

  • In oz it was apart of Fox Classic's "Classic Bond" Marathon.

    But honestly I dunno.

Rent it from the movie shop or watch pirated one on youtube...

  • It works surprisingly well!

  • Lois Chiles...

  • Sublime

  • I like this upbeat opening song by Dame Bassey.

  • This is not the opening credits song. The opening is this song done as an elegant ballad. This is the disco remix that was used for the closing credits at the end of the film. Someone just overlaid this mix onto visuals of the opening credits...

  • That's ... pretty much how its described ... isn't it?

  • great

  • i like the end title version better than the opening but both versions are great

  • A good song, mais goldfinger is the best

  • Half right.

  • The Best Bond theme ever. Shirley Bassey the Diva of all times

  • Fuck YOU!!! I like all james bond movies but I prefer this theme....

  • This is the best Bond theme ever!

  • 'where arrrrre youuuuu, where do you hiiiide' x

  • This version mixed with the opening video fits a lot better.

  • Does anybody know where i can get a hold of this version of the song? i have the original, but its kinda cool to have an alternative!

  • The reason I think the siluette is Jaws, is bechause he falls into the tent, and Maurice Binder took it into the titles..

  • Pourris....

  • For me this is the Best song that Shirley Bassey did out of the 3 Bond Movies - however not this disco version. The original is slower and much more atmospheric. Check it out on the album - The Best of Bond

  • The crotch is rather Jaws, flatten out after the fall into the circus-tent.. But it is discussable ofcourse :)

  • Moonificent song for Bond. Shirley Bassey defines the singer for the Bond movies, starring in three. Intriguing opening credits as well. One thing always stood out for me, and I never understood why the creators decided to do this. Do you notice why in the beginning, right before the song starts the image freezes right on Bond's crotch? What the hell is up with that? "Inside" joke? What do you guys think of that? I laughed in confusion when I first saw that.

  • I actually think that was Jaws who fell through circus tent. Still, good catch of the innuendo.

  • I allso think it was Jaws who has "flatten" out.. I have seen this movie like 150 times, and I thought of that the first times, but then I went kinda blind for stuff like that. Lovely anyway

  • Can you say at what time, exactly? What does "crotch" mean? (I am Norwegian, hehe, sometimes I read "new" words you know)

  • "What does "crotch" mean?"

    Cock and balls.

Or minge, if it's a lady.

  • Thanx, I had a hunch..

Well, anyway, I myself think it must be Jaws, rather than anyone else. It is not Bond, for sure. Who else has "flatten" out, as a siluette?? Just my opinion.. Any other suggestions folks?

  • Oh, I see what you mean. I think Maurice Binder just needed some "space for contrast" with the clowns and so on the side, and James to appear in there.. But the crotch is not Bonds I think, if you look carefully.

  • Eh, I think the opening/end songs in this movie are perfect as is. The slow version fits the mellow mood of the titles, and I just love how the disco version comes in at the end as the rocket goes zooming away.

  • Moonraker is ready for testing, but something's not quite right. At M's request, Bond begins his investigation with Sir Hugo Drax, the leading card shark at M's club, who is also the head of the Moonraker project. But once Bond delves deeper, he discovers that both the project and its leader are something other than they appear to be.

  • My favourite Bond movie ever with all the glamour. Most sophisticated bond girl Lois Chiles - Joanna Lumley in her 30s would have been the best - fantasy stuff. Brilliant Disco mix exceptional thanks for posting

  • AMAZING >>AMAZING MIX !!!!!DO MOOORE !!!!!

    with FULL LYRICS.

There,s a remix of diamonds are forever on youtube, but they didn't keep the original full lyrics

  • I think either version would've been perfect for the opening, but they'd have to change the credits' pace to fit the "disco" version.

    Thanx for posting!

  • Hmmm...I think the original choice works much better. It's my favourite of Bassey's bond tunes, not so bombastic as Goldfinger, and a really subtle but gorgeous arrangement by John Barry. The "disco" sound of he end titles version really dates the film, IMO. Good work, though, and cheers forletting us see what it would have sounded like.

  • Since I was a kid (I'm 45 now) I like to imagine diferent songs mixed with Bond opening titles. Now your job is making some of my oldest dreams a reality.

    Thanks a lot.

    A friend from Brazil.

  • My absolute favorite Bond movie of all time!!

  • LuiECuomo, you`re great! Ever since I saw this movie at a roadshow theater many many years ago, I thought this would have been better. A dream come true, thanks!

  • Way better than the regular one. This rocks! =D

  • Okay, I'll try it out.

  • I've got another idea/request: A view to a kill, with Bassey's take on that one.

  • Thanks. u got talent!

  • Thanks! Well done!

  • Awesome! I love it!
