While they use a tumbling drive shaft that connect to a square drive stub drive stub welded at the center off the axle. Jacking that wheel off the ground was/is used to cut, thread pipe larger than 2.5" out on location in the oilfield.

this is a great idea, if you are not near a power supply.

if you put a twist in the belt like an 8 it will keep the belt in line.

@joetraynor1 But that will turn the mixer in the wrong direction. The need to change direction is most often reason 1 will see a twist in a belt.
