I dont know why i am surprised by this. obama, pelosi, and reids main goals are to extend this entitlement/welfare state while they have the chance. they want to create a population of dependents, who all rely on the government for everything. this will destroy the middle class, but i guess they think they can keep borrowing money and devaluing the dollar. fuckin assholes
I feel it is unfair that these Adults, ADULTS! Cannot take responstiblity with there morgage and payments. They were stupid enough to get something they cannot afford nor make ends meet.
More terrible I have to pay for it, their mistake.
I am BEYOND PISSED now! I live below my means, could have purchased a much nicer house and gone into foreclosure. But, NO, I decided to pay off all of my credit cards, car loan and made extra principal payments to pay off my modest home sooner. I AM AN IDIOT! It does NOT PAY TO BE RESPONSIBLE in the NEW WORLD ORDER!

The subprime mortgage nonsense is what caused the housing bubble to burst. And public housing does us no good, either. You can't just give free housing to poor folks. Obviously they can't afford to maintain it, who's gonna maintain an apartment complex in the projects, for instance? If it's "public", everyone's using it, and no one has an incentive to fix it. No one feels a responsibility to maintain it. There's no interest in doing so. That's the free rider problem for ya.
I hate how the Democrats and welfare liberals are making such a huge deal out of homeowners losing their homes. Oh, boo hoo! These people can rent apartments, condos or townhouses! There are some pretty nice condos and townhouses that are reasonably sized. I mean, unless you have a HUGE family, you can fit pretty well in either one. Artificially expanding homeownership is such nonsense, based on myths about some mysterious ripple effect home ownership has on the community.
I cringe whenever I see some idiotic commercial for a company that actually says "bad credit? No problem!" What the hell kind of nonsense is that? You're gonna give away your products to deadbeats who can't pay the bills? Oh yeah, that's a great business plan. I wonder what the success rate for these subprime credit companies are. 90%? 99%? 100%??
If we're gonna flout the credit rating system, we might as well just abolish the credit rating agencies and make everyone pay cash, always.
I know how you feel, Chris. This whole homeowners bailout is a fuckin sham. What a load of crap! Who says you need a house to live comfortably? Sure, a house is nice, and great to have that security of owning your own home rather than renting, but you have to AFFORD it. Why doesn't Obama at least get these people the education and skills necessary to afford houses and save the money for a mortgage? That'd be a much better plan, if we're gonna go socialist inevitably, than a bailout.
Precisely. Not everyone needs to own their home, some people arent mature enough or they dont take care of responsibilities. If you actually have to WORK for something, save & sacrifice for it....you'll be much more likely to take care of it,not let it fall into disrepair.
Example - give a teenager a new car soon as they are 16 & get drivers license - see how long it is before car is wrecked.
So...lets just say hypothetically that Obama didn't pay back those mortgages...
Would your blood also be boiling when you can't sell your home, because your neighbors had to foreclose, and your neighborhood turns into a shithole?
That's what happened in Detroit.

WHY? Because you get to use a mirror and a sharp object.

I thought I would be first to post on this one. You are making a mistake. You should have waited for the mortgage bailout..
Of course, if you can still shave without cutting your face because you know YOU were responsible.
