  • XEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • Nice post. One note on translation: in Lingala, "Mama" is used as a form of address to any woman, not just one's mother.

  • @mediaevalguitartab That is true not only in Lingala, but many other languages/places in the world. But then, on the day you die, you may be calling your birth mother...

  • @AboubacarSiddikh Eza ya solo!

  • My, are those cheap instruments or what ?

  • Sam we love you!

  • Mokolo mosusu ngai nakanisi (The other day I was wondering)Naloti lokola ngai nakolala (I dreamt as I was sleeping) Aa mama aa Mokolo ya liwa (Ah mother, the day of my death) Mokolo nakokufa nani akolela ngai?(The day I day, who will weep for me?) Nakoyeba te (I don't know) Tika namilela(Let me weep for myself)

Liwa ya nzamba soki mpe liwa ya mai (Death in the forest or in water?)

I got at megajoin look for full lyrics there, i love lingala i refuse to die before i know it

  • @sokoroable thank you for the translation man..God bless!!

  • @zuluman2008 you're most welcome dear

  • heranca de angola,um dos filhos de angola mais dedicados. um tipo extremamente humilde.

  • The melody is quite close to Wendo's song Bakosi liwa ya wendo - They lied about Wendo's death. Wendo was not burdened by false modesty you don't think he claimed 'authorship' in a way that was not entirely untrue but a little exagerated? The lyrics just seem not at all in Wendo's style.

  • One hears a lot of these stories - and some are undoubtedly true. However I have never heard that anyone but ley wrote mokolo nakokufa - it is his greatest work clearly. I was in Kin for quite a long time. Other cases where this is the case e.g. Mere Superiere are open secrets. In terms of the lyrics the use of words also seems stylistically closer to Ley who is a more refined kind of composer.

I would be interested to know what your source is.

  • Ndombe Opetum s´est inspiré de cette chanson pour composer la chanson mokolo na kokufa ekozala bongo baye ba kufa liboso tomonaka ezalaka bongo......

  • I00691900

I think it's Tabu Ley song because Mangwana in singing said that Tabu oyo maloba kitoko.Which

is Tabu those're wonderful (nice) words

  • thank goodness i clicked on more info! very impressive aboubacar siddikh

  • kitoko trop..

  • Liwa, elombe ayaka nayo centre na la vie

    - I hear "sans preavis" (without a warning"), not "centre la vie". Makes sense that death would come without a warning.

  • um dos grandes musicos angolanos

com uma voz incrivel e reverente ....

  • Dear Wetu/efomi, thanks. I am still confused to your answers. I'll think as Wetu, 1st I didn't know until recently that Wendo joined Tabu's band. 2nd it's in Mangwana's version that he mentions Wendo a composer (a mistake?). If Wendo and Sam were at the same time in Tabu's band, then it is up to Tabu to come clean on this. because Sam would know what he is talking about, by saying wendo is the author. Tabu has thousands of songs on his name, but if this isn't so be it.

    NMokili

  • Un des grand chanteur que Dieu à donné à ses enfants d'Afrique. Sam l'incomparable.

  • I always knew this song was Tabu ley, is this a mistake to say that it waswritten by Wendo. Mystery, may someone clarify this for me pls. Sam's version is also good as Tabu's

    Ngongamokili

  • The song might possibly be Wendo's because Wendo integrated Tabu ley's band in the late 60's. I wasn't born back then so I can't assert it, but I just read it somewhere. thanks.

  • it was originally done by tabu ley pascal avec afrisa fiesta band

  • I thought Mokolo Nakokufa was a song by Tabu Ley. Who sung it firs? Or did Rochereau and Sam sung it together at some point? Thanks for posting. I love both versions.

  • Talking about Mokolo nakokufa, I don't think that Wendo wrote or sponsored this song, it's entirely Tabu Ley,s creation; by the way, Tabu Ley calls himself "Wendo's successor ", master piece

  • Tabu ley sang same song.
