We do a modification of this drill, we add a catcher to catch the ball and the batter has to watch at the ball all the way into the catchers mitt. With the drill shown the batter only follows the ball 3/4 of the way, if you notice the batter doesn't move her head to follow the ball, its still a good drill.
it's great that she can track the ball...too bad her mechanics are old, outdated, and really not helping her at all.....

@ptrodrigu good call. i teach the same way. see the ball to the mitt or follow the ball on a hit.

it is a wonderful drill and it DOES help you concentrae on the ball

This is a very effective technique. If forces the hitter to concentrate on the ball. My niece became a very good hitter using this exercise.
