I had the same problem. What I did to fix it was delete ultrasn0w and then reinstall it. But when my phone dies, or if I reboot my phone, I get the same problem again. So I have to delete ultrasn0w again, and then reinstall it..

i have an iphone 3g on ios 4.1 and baseband 06.15.00 jailbroken with redsn0w 09.6b2, have ultrasn0w installed and tried several things such as: rebooting it, turn airplane mode on and of, etc.

but i get no signal and cause of ultrasn0w it runs really slow.

to fix you have to go to cydia then reinstall repo666.ultrasn0w which will fix your problem as it sorts out your baseband

it's already 2011 and i jailboke my iphone 3G for 4.2.1 on 6.15.00 baseband and sometimes i get full bars but only lasts for a minute or two and goes back to "searching..." i guess this has been happening for a while now...

first going to cydia and unstalling ultrasn0w, Second i had to rejailbreak the iphone, you need to download redsn0w version 0.9.6b5 (im using a mac, dont know about pc sorry) follow the instruction its a MUST you click install cydia & install ipad baseband, people forgot to check this and sometimes lead to the no servive problem, let it jailbreak be patient, once done, use ultrasn0w, hopefully that would work

I used Redsnow 0.9.6b5 and restore my phone to 4.1 and 06.15 baseband.. My phone will picks up full reception but after couple minutes/seconds, it will drop all the bars and go into either " No Reception" or "Searching".

I tried " resetting Network"... taking Sim card in and out... Airplane mode.... I turned of the 3g. everything i read online ..

Please help...very frustrated

iOS: Sinful custom iOS 4.1 (activated), so it said, but i installed the sinful ultrasn0w and got no service. i uninstalled that, and went to the repo666 package and install its ultrasn0w and voila! i have service on 4.1 on ipad baseband! hope this helps others...i was about to smash this fucking phone!

look it did the same to me, i am now using it fine.

- make sure you use the latest version of redsn0w. get thefirmwire that fits your CURRENT ware on your phone, and also download the firmware to get the 6.15.00 bandwidth...

run redsn0w and click change bandwitdh to ipad. let it jailbreak, then run ultrasn0w. let it reboot, go into cydia again and run ultrasn0w again. let it run and do NOT reboot it this time. that's how i got service on mine.

U need to check ur modem firmware ultrasnow only works with a few modem firmwares go to settings general and see ur baseband I fixed my Iphone by changing to a ipad modem firmware which is 06.15.0 u can do this with the new redsn0w jailbreak u just click the option use ipad baseband then install ultrasn0w and ur good to go hope this helps

@DaManRigel yeah i got it fixed. all I did was jailbroke it with ultrasn0w instead of blackra1n. So my suggestion would be to just rejailbreak with a different software.

Hey, i just figured out the problem, you first put your sim card, then go to Settings > Airplane mode (ON) And Then Put It Back Off, It Will Still Say No Service , Then You Go To Settings > Carrier , it will automaticly search, if it says it doesnt find a netwok, press settings and do the same method :) , hope i helped !

Following steps will hopefully get your iphone working. I have iphone 3G 3.1.2 firmware.

First, make sure you have the 3G & Data roaming OFF. Secondly, Install "sn0w" from blackra1n and finally, reboot the iphone. This should work. It did for me!!

I had this same problem but with Redsn0w. It fixed itself after upgrading to ultrasn0w in Cydia. The only thing I can think that may be different for you, compared to me, is that I downloaded a different Profile for my Service provider from:

Select country, service provider install profile and let us know how you get on. As I say, I've got signal now.

Do you have T-Mobile? if so, T-Mobile was down yesterday and everybody was having shitty service. There is nothing i did with this phone i had to buy a new iphone and jailbreak again. For what I've seen you did everything the right way but you could have more recent bootloader or baseband. If haven't done any recent updates from Itunes you could fix the problem by dwning fuzzyband from Cydia and downgrading you baseband as long as you have bootloader < 4.** other wise we are on the same boat you'll have to wait for dev-team for new updates

Download Fuzzyband from Cydia, that will let you know the version of your Baseband and Bootloader, like I wrote before if the version of your boot loader is anything lower than 4.xx then you can downgrade your base band and be able to user your phone with any provider

i Think that i cant unlock the iphone. I found out that it has boot loader version 5.09 and i heard that if an iphone has that version of the bootloader, it is unlockable. I will end up selling the iphone to an AT&T User
