The river levee at St. Bernard Parish was blown back in the 20's to save New Orleans. Blowing a levee at the industrial canal saves no one. The failure of that levee put 8 feet of water in my house. The richest area, Lake View was also wiped out liked the 9th ward.

Then consider how the levees in Memphis were bombed last year to keep it from running over in Missouri and Illinois. Look again at the pictures in New Orleans and Memphis. Both of the levee malfunctions happend in poorer neighborhoods. Really google all three floods and tell me what you think.

With all due respect to Spike Lee. The levees were not blown. He is correct about the same was thought of hurricane Betsy in the 60's. The river levee at St. Bernard Parish was blown back in the 20's to save New Orleans. Blowing a levee at the industrial canal saves no one. The failure of that levee put 8 feet of water in my house. The richest area, Lake View was also wiped out liked the 9th ward.

Then consider how the levees in Memphis were bombed last year to keep it from running over in Missouri and Illinois. Look again at the pictures in New Orleans and Memphis. Both of the levee malfunctions happend in poorer neighborhoods. Really google all three floods and tell me what you think.

Respond to this video... I would say this though. It is very interesting that we have had the technology since the 50's to alter the course of hurricanes and without doubt weaken them. Yet, this one made it to category 5 and hit N.O.

I don't believe the levees were blown up.That was a huge and powerful hurricane,we saw it on radar before it hit.The black wards just happened to be closer to the shore.What fools would hang around to blow up levees DURING the hurricane?They would have died.I guess a theory could have been to seize land to drill onshore...but I don't believe it.Unless they had bombs set in place at initial knowledge of evacuation...but I don't believe it.

Does this mean that I am eager to side with Joe and afraid to disagree with steve on all occaisions? Not necessarily, I might just agree with what Joe said and disagree with what Steve said.
