@nathanchitty Build a "hackintosh" from common hardware... just be sure to put an Apple Logo on it as require by the Usage Agreement when you open your Mac OSX retail installation disk.

Hi, The point of a mind map? To organize content in a graphical way so that it is more easily understood is what I would say.

- Reframe the information to memorize it better thanks to the reframing process. This process also helps to make "details" stand out more than they do on a first impression of the original information;

- It is more usefull for the person building it than for its readers;

- It can be browsed faster than a video;

- It is searcheable (with the right tools or if you convert it to a pure text format);

- It helps to repeat the content to others;

I watched your video because I am hoping to understand mindmapping and the program XMind. Just one little picky thing about Jobs/Fonts/ and Windows. If I remember correctly Microsoft was in the DOS stage and Windows did not exist until after the first GUI Apple. Thanks for sharing your observations on the speech and your mindmap

Indeed a great speach from Steve Jobs. But this video is just retelling the same text by writing the points in circles/boxes. How can this be called a mind map? I didn't get anything new from the commentator in the form of analysis or mapping SJ's mind.

Thanks for the comment. The point of this mind map is to retell the story graphically so that it can be understood and remembered. This is a tool for the reader to understand the speech. Analysis of the speech or "mapping SJ's mind" is a different exercise.

Hope that helps in terms of my intention in using the mind map tool.

I totally agree with your assessment of this video. It did not seem to add value on top of what was already known by watching the original video clip. On top of that, Steve did a much better job in the delivery. That's one of Steve's enduring traits. His sense of style in how things are done and delivered. Kudos to you Steve!!!! We are very fortunate to experience what you have to offer the world.

Yes. I use a tablet pc from motion computing. When apple comes out with a tablet I will probably make my switch. I have used macs before in the 1990's. They were better machines 10 years ago than windows today but in business I need to stay in windows a bit longer.
