  • Your father's voice had the same feeling of wisdom and humanity about it as JG's Prospero. Genuinely moving - and wonderful to listen to whilst watching moments from Greenaway's majestic and shamefully under-appreciated masterpiece.

Thanks for that. It was an unexpected treat.

  • I love this well done

  • @JohnnyUTaz Thanks for that Johnny!

  • Very well done- thank you for the gift!

  • @celery812many Many thanks Marc! Yes, what a wonderful film, every bit as good as the great Fellini. And dear old Johnnie at his peak at almost 90!

  • A beautiful combination of images, words, and music, Charles. This video will stay in my mind for a long time.

  • I will not ( for I can not ) dare to comment on the erudition of the inspiration and execution of this symphony. I will, unabashed sensualist that I am, comment on what it is about this that makes me swoon..... your virtuosity of mellifluous machinations........ ( I've told you this before...... ) mellifluous metaphor ( viscous bellies ........ vertiginously verbal ...)

I suppose I should be in awe of WHAT you say. I can not get over HOW you say it.

  • @NuovoPiero Thanks Piero mio, you're a treasure. Don't you just love Johnnie in his big blue hat?

  • Dear Charles,

This is a wonderful tribute. Your talent and voice are comparable to Gielgud's and your insight and wisdom to Prospero's. A blessed memory of your dear father from his dear son.

  • @superdooperstupor You make me blush with pleasure Kestal :) Thank you.

  • Wonderful!

  • @Cuinnandstuff Many thanks :)

  • What a wonderful tribute to JG and your father! Thank you, Chas :)

  • @twinnumber3 Thanks Jonathan, so glad you liked it.

  • most enjoyable

  • @bigeeezy Many thanks & my best wishes.

  • A worthy tribute. John Gielgud's speaking voice was so melodious, precise, well phrased, that, had he read aloud the OED from cover to cover, I would have remained captivated.

  • @sfkcbf I entirely agree Stephen: it is music to the ears.

  • This is beautiful - the blending of the images with your outstanding delivery. Thank you for sharing it Charles.

  • @alejandre321 Many thanks my friend. Good to hear from you and I hope you are well.

  • nice tribute to John Gielgud, Charles.

    5*

    all the best
