  • that is a joke right?

  • @iDoodleTv :

Not sure what you're asking Doodle... Are RSI injuries from playing video games a joke? Not a joke at all. Muscle imbalance from repetive motion occurs over time which causes blood flow and muscle imbalance problems at the hand, wrist & elbow.

  • Just last night I played some Call of Duty MW3 more intense then I've ever played which improved my performance. As a result my left hand started getting tired which then caused my thumb to twitch. It was scary since I've never experienced my thumb twitching like that before. Of course, I discontinued my gaming session but I'm worried that I won't be able to play intensely anymore. I know many other people play Call of Duty way more often then I do and they don't have this issue.

  • @WolfShadow1234 :

We're all different DNA-wise and have different degrees of tissue and joint health & especially blood flow based on our experiences. Be consistent with proper balanced exercise to maximize ur individual potential for muscle & joint health. Also check that your diet includes fresh vegetables and lots of water. Your nutrient balance is key for all of your muscles, even your hand muscles!

  • @WolfShadow1234 Dude the same thing happened to me except its my trigger finger (right index finger) and it just keeps twitching, its annoying to play with.

  • Handmaster Plus exercises the hand through natural ROM so allows you to mimick any movement.

  • very interesting, but this is for pressing buttons only. wot about sliding, can you exercise the thumb for lateral movement, not just up and down

  • this is very interesting to me. i recently found and purchased a handmaster while searching for hand exercisers via amazon.com. this one seemed to get good reviews and it was a good price, so i bought it. i partly was looking because of my recent affair with Fifa 11, which kind of cramps your hands after a while because of the way you end up holding the control. this product has helped me feel better in just a couple days and i look forward to using it continually. i also play guitar :)

  • Hi, im a 15 year old boy who plays A LOT of video games as i have nothing better to do as i have peripheral neuropathy in my feet which is like flat feet and i wear braces on my legs. Recently my hands especially my right, my fingers are weak, and i dont have mobilization as a normal hand would have like i cant snap which i used to be able to and i cant button up my shirts or cut my nails or do A LOT of things like i was able to do before. please help me out im in desperate need of attention TY

  • @iiLegendHD : I am hopeful that you have a health care professional that can advise you of safe exercise to stimulate circulation. I can suggest Handmaster Plus soft, which will guarantee better blood flow and strength for your hands, wrsits and forearms, but your Dr. must first approve. Let me know if I can assist further.

  • hey doc ive been gaming for for the last year i play call of duty which is fast paced ive been and somewhat recently my thumb has been getting fatigued and has sometimes just feels uncoordinated and grip strength in my right hand has been getting worse. I recently ordered the three pack of handmaster plus the weak medium and strong balls with all the bands. Do you recommend i take a break from gaming before starting to using them??? and also is there any good warm up before gaming i can do???

  • @TheWonderboy906

Thx for your q. The beauty of the Handmaster Plus id that ii is a continuos exercise that strengthens and balance all of the muscles groups of the hand (18 in all). To warm up, I suggest to do the basic exercise for 15-20 seconds. Unless you are in pain there should be no reason to stop playing as you start using Handmaster Plus. Keep in touch. You will notice great changes in 4-6 weeks. Keep consistent.

  • @doczac Hey doczac,

Recently my left thumb joint (reflex muscle i think) has started to hurt a good bit. I play mostly FPS such as COD battlefield and halo. With the handmaster pro, can it not only prevent injuries, but also help my thumb joint recover and strengthen?

  • @doczac Before i forget, i also play a good bit of guitar/bass everyday as well

  • this is a friggin joke

  • @croup007

Interesting comment. You have seen and understood the video? You have tried the product? You may not have exposure to gamers with RSI's like I have. It is a very real problem and very preventable.

  • @doczac oh ok sorry i misunderstood i didn't realise it was to prevent RSI's i thought you just meant for it to help with gaming generally lol

  • @croup007

Thanks for the reply... Hey, no problem.. performance is best (especially speed stamina) when healthy. Seems very subtle but high acheivers look for every edge!

  • @doczac That's because gamers never go outside to interact with people like us.

  • Yes - this is Greg Irwin, I am often asked how long a person should exercise their hands and fingers when they first start working out. I value your opinion and appreciate your advice.

In general, in the beginning how long should a workout session usually be if your hands are feeling good? After a person has been training for a while, what is the maximum amount of time you would recommend for a workout?

    Thanks in advance,

    Greg

  • Hey Greg:

    Hope you are well...

I've seen such variance in base grip strength when people begin to strengthen/balance their hand muscles. Basic guidlines for fatigue are 20/30 seconds - 2 minutes when one begins a training routine, with subsequent progression to 2 minutes - 5 minutes when advanced (estimates based on Handmaster Plus exercises, with appropriate resistance for the individual - S, M or F strength).

Hope that helps. See u down the road..Take care, Greg...

  • How long would you suggest a person with normal healthy hands exercise with the Handmaser Plus on a daily basis?

  • Hi GregIrwin2008:

Hi Greg! Is that you?As to ur q, 'normal healthy hands' is subjective. As we know, all people are fixed into flexion (considering flex vs. extend), to a degree d2 repetitive acts. For the average person (not experiencing sypmtoms/ seeks wellness & performance maintenance, I suggest 1-3 workouts per day, duration is until a comfortable fatigue only. Consistent use stimulates max circulation (hand motions resisted thru full ROM's), muscle tone & balance.

  • yaaayy!! i need dis for fifa 09!!!!!

  • Hello Doc

I just started training to achieve Iron Fist which involves hitting a heavy bag 100 times a day, doing bare knuckle pushups, and weight training.. With the eventual goal to deaden my nerves and strengthen my bones and overall hands.. But my concern is if this will cause me to get arthritis later in life, and if your product will help to prevent that if used in conjuction with the Iron Fist training? Thanks!

  • Thanks for this video, doc. Definitely need something for the extenser muscles...

  • MrB:

Thanks for your comment-I couldn't agree more. The fact is that video games are embedded strongly in our society; kids & adults. The 1st stage to change is acceptance. When we accept gamers & their passion (no matter how we feel individually), we keep the door open for discussion/change towards healthier habits. Gamers may also be computer users, athletes, musicians, tradepeople, etc. who depend on their hands; it gives me a platform to educate on balance/injury prevention.

  • People who play so many games that it requires these exercises should realise that getting out more and doing real exercise would be more beneficial.

  • my question is does this product also put your fingers back to normal if you have some rsi or stiffness.

  • DC:

Refer to my previous post. If a person is symptomatic, seek treatment 1st (search ART or Graston therapist in your area) & use Handmaster Plus as an adjunct. This is because you may have an inflammatory process that takes priority over exercise at this point; and/or you may have chronic adhesions (from previous healed small traumas). When cleared for exercise, Handmaster Plus will re-establish proper blood flow, muscle tone & muscle balance in the finger, thumb, hand & wrist.

  • ok, now my question is... my left thumb is stiff and doesent move around as easily as the other one. i got the handmaster plus 3 pack. and have only been working with the softball. but havent noticed many results. would the medium and firm balls help. and my last answer is that is this product also meant to fix rsi injuries, and put the muscles back to normal. now my thumb isent really bad it just feels stiff. like when i do thumbs up... its stiff. could this fix it. thanks alot doczac.

  • DC:

Thanks for your q. Always remember that exercise is for preparation for performance & prevention of injury. If symptomatic (thumb stiffness), exercise is used as a compliment to therapy. I urge you to contact an ART or Graston therapist to examine & treat your thumb-use Handmaster as a compliment. If you choose to try Handmaster alone, only try medium strength if it causes no pain; & only use until comfortable fatigue-1 minute max usually. The body will adapt. Be consistent.
