ST 5000 Digital Compass by Victorinox Swiss Army Watch

Just bought one, I love it. BUT - I have no idea what the "watch locator" function is. Also, I understand how to find my direction and set/hold my heading - but why the "degrees" all the way around (it rotates)?

My friend had one where the hands would reposition themselves in a line to mimic the arms of a compass. The hands moved in real time too. It amazed me. Too bad I don't know what brand it was.

no date and no timer despite a digital display - terrible error by Victorinox given the intended use of such a watch. Warning, the glass cracks incredibly easily.

Do not buy.
