  • come on I know you can do better, you are just one beat out of step the bass needs to wake up but at least I can see the old ways have not been forgotten, I remember this exact moment every sunday after we finished speaking high german to the Lord, it was permissable to use it the entire day after if God was glorified

  • It is my understanding that this song actually originated in America and was not sung by our German Russian forefathers in South Russia before they came to the US in the late 1800's. It later found its way to Russia but by way of the kinfolks who lived in Amrica. What know you about this?

  • @oldtimeway1 This is a LUTHERAN SONG With German origin . Was written by Thurinia in 1840s. Might be Lutheran`s most popular song in any language worldwide.

  • @rualwe Se video est a Russia, a Volga.

  • @derralf03 Well, the melodies they sing are probably slightly different. Having lived apart for so long, different clusters of Germans from Russia have kept the music tradition alive but the tunes might have changed in the meanwhile.

I like it a lot too.

  • @RingoFalkan Ist kein Geheule.

  • grew up in argentina, where i heard this sung quite often at a seventh day adventist church my grandparents and relatives attended in Entre Rios.

  • @rickischmidt Very nice to know this song has been kept alive in the New World after all the years and the long journey from the home country (Russia) down to Südamerika.
