I was very excited about Quinto playing Spock but I am also liking Pine more and more as days go by and he does these press junkets. he seems easygoing and innately perceptive, not to mention funny. it takes a real man (with a healthy self-esteem) to admit what he did at the end of the video.

Same with me! I've always loved the fact that Zach was cast as Spock, and with Chris I was kind of like, "Yeah, he seems ok..."

But as I've seen more of these interviews, as more continue to come out and I have seen how he interacts with his castmates, and how he *is,* I'm really falling for him. Chris seems like a really great guy, a good match for Kirk.

I liked to argue that Kirk was growing less and less appreciated over the last 40 years because people kept stigmatizing him by their opinion, good or bad, of William Shatner's life and performance. Chris Pine's amazing portrayal of Kirk at a very different point in his life and his difficult formative years was something I appreciated so much, because it allowed people to finally separate Kirk the character from Shatner the actor and change their views.
