im getting braces next week and im scared they are going to be on for prom. im going into 10th grade and the dentist said an outside range of how long i need them is 2-2 1/2 years. but can you tell me if they use needles or surgery to attach them???

@taylorswiftfan143 NO needles! NO surgery! Just some tooth glue and the braces. They use a special glue and just put the brackets right on the glue so they stick to your teeth. and the wires are pushed into the brackets so the only thing really touching your teeth is the glue. Don't worry about it. It's not NEARLY as bad as you think. Take pain medicine about 30 minutes BEFORE your appointment so that it kicks in by the time the braces are on :) Good luck! let me know how it goes! :) It'll be ok

lol i got them (: uhh they didnt hurt that much butt they feel very very tight .....and cheww lotss of gum before you get them ..becouse you will cryy evrytime you see a pack of gum ..cuzz u cnt have any );

@cutiewitasmileXD Congratulations!!!!!!!! :) Don't worry..I was scared too but it really wasnt too bad when I think back on it. I thought it was the end of the world at the time but now looking back, I'm SO HAPPY I got them.

they now put braces on with like this tray with ur brackets already in it and the thing with the brackets is like ur teeth mold and they stick it in ur mouth and this is after they put the glue on but anyway ya its pretty cool

your teeth are reeaalllyy white on the bottom but aree real yellow on top.. ;O

It was because I had the metal on top and clear on bottom. The clear makes your teeth look yellow but I didn't know that until after they were on =( They took them off and both top and bottom are white =)

what is the color of your elastics on your lower teeth?is it the individual elastics or the chain?

The color is a darker green (dark colors make teeth look whiter) and it is a chain. I did used to have individual litlle elastics around them. Your orthodontist will decide if you need a chain or just individual elastics.
