This movie pissed me the fuck off. Why did Miike have to take a break from the badass gore and show us their soft side and "we gotta help the kids in Africa" who will die before the age of ten either way because of AIDS, we have to donate. "Babies are cool," the fuk does that mean. The first DOA was awesome. To hell with 2 and 3, I'm fine with Audition and Ichi the Killer. This movie made me want to shit on Pope Benedict
My favourite scene was the one where they joked about their friend cheating on his wife with the poles in the playground. The friendship just felt so real in that scene, it gave me a hearty laugh.
I'd like to see the scene where Riki and Sho meet up with their old buddy and play a lot of games in the old schoolyard, and the scene where they are looking at the old film and Riki walks away. Two very gentle and emotional scenes from an awesome, violent film.
I don't quite remember the second scene, but I do remember the first. I was going to post that one instead of this, but I thought this one was more comical :)
