Duende, soul, whatever you call it: Karen has whatever it is, and it is obviously part of some universal language that we can all understand and appreciate regardless of our skin color and culture.
According to the comments in Spanish her name is Karen an even Spanish people consider she is very talented. I am myself a professional flamenco dancer and I consider she has a beautiful upper body (this is definitely not easy to do) I have seen a lot of very committed flamenco dancers in the U.S. and they can not move like that. (Spanish called that duende- and equivalent to soul in the American blues). With years of practice and technique you can have good footwork but not the grace.
This kind of flamenco is all about the expertise of Zapateado, i.e. striking the floor with the feet; which she appeared to be quite competent at doing. Therefore more attention to the footwork would be appreciated.
There was nothing amazing about her performance other than her footwork; anybody can swan around with their arms, - it's the footwork that takes practice.
Seriously have you any idea bout how difficut it is to get your arms to "swan around" with an effortless grace like they do? Have you ever tried it yourself? Their entire torso is moving in aticipateion of their arms swannig around, and its NOT as easy as they make it look.
