  • malamutes are not known to attack their owners, whoever told you this had no clue about these dogs. They will challenge you for pack leader, A LOT, but not thru aggression....only by not listening and doing things their way. lol. They can however, be quite aggressive towards other DOGS not in their family. It all depends how you raise them. they need losts of socializing. And need EVEN MORE excercise. They are not for a first time dog owner, this i can guarantee.

  • Its Cujo and Fang!

  • Your Saint Bernard needs a bath hahaha. I used to have a Saint Bernard. Best dogs on the PLANET. I love them.

  • Balto vs Beethoven!

  • and to the comment below about malamutes liking snow its not cruel to own a dog in warm weather Saint bernards as well were born to be in the mountains i have 2 saint bernards that yes like colder tempatures but you can make that work doesnt mean its cruel to have a darn dog. ---- Cruel would be putting them in a Extremely hot car yes but not to own one think of words before type

  • the houses could be a tad bigger for large breed dogs. I have 2 saint bernards and they eat twice daily and get 3 cups each with mixed veggies, But they look very happy to play together.

  • Hey!!! Who won?????

  • Cujo ???

  • Tug of war?

    Dog of war.

  • Alrighty. Well, I will definitely take all of your responses into consideration. Thank you so much for the advice. :)

  • 2 big, powerful dogs you have there!!

  • I heard malamutes are known to maul their owners. I know this is somewhat true, but any dog could attack their owner. Is it common for this dog to do so? I really want to buy one but am not sure. They are so beautiful.

  • @Iloverandykorton get a husky.. malamutes are soooo hard to come by and are quite exspensive.. but if you have the money. go for it. but treat it right

  • @jaitchproductions malamutes r not expensive.....they r the same as any other breed and they r not hard to come by..............unless u live in a hot place which in that case u shouldnt even have a malamute cuz they r built for snow and can live in temps colder than -20

  • @Iloverandykorton wow wow wow i dont know what that other is talking abotu and i surely have no clue where u heard that stuff about malamutes!!! malamutes are a very gentle breed they r NOT known to maul ANYBODY the indians used them to "babysit" their children while they went hunting or fishing...they r known for their gentleness with children they ARE NOT aggressive breed what so ever they are amazing pets the ONLY bad thing is all the hair...u need to brush them A LOT

  • @Iloverandykorton oh and also......if u live in a hot place it would be cruel to get a malamute because they r built for cold and snowy places...they can survive outdoors in temps colder than -20

  • My two favorite dog breeds <3

  • Is it weird that my Malamute's name is Bear?

  • even with much larger dogs, the Malemute is likely to win in ANY struggle.

they dont call them the "King of the Working breeds" for nothing

  • @sillybabybunnies no they won;t my great pyr woud beat nay malamute

  • @rctriplefresh5

well, I dont know about all that...

I suppose there's an exception to prove most rules.

  • @sillybabybunnies there's no exception..great pyrs are more alpha :)

  • @rctriplefresh5

in my considerable experience with the great Pyranees breed, without exception, they are big babies. : )

  • clash of the titans 2 right here

  • Ohgod they're so cute. -o.o- Can I hug them?

  • I wonder who won the tug of war contest?

  • Your dogs are soooo cute! How long do they play tug a war till one wins? I have a alaskan malmute and she is really sweet

  • St Bernards are the best, mine passed away a few weeks back. The best dog ever.

  • Teehee. Cute.

  • I had a saint bernard before named Dakota. That dog was the best dog I ever had.

  • im geting a Pug, Saint bernard & a Husky i love dogs :3

  • i love doggies

  • I absolutely LOVE St. Bernards and Malamutes! The biggest, sweetest, fluffiest dogs you will ever meet :3

  • wow this is exciting (but then i got reminded of Michael Vic.... lol)

  • Beautiful Giant, she is gorgeous!

  • awwwwwwww i want them

  • Do Malamutes typically get along with other dogs, because I have heard that they have a 'pack' personality where they assert their dominance and authority over other dogs. Cute video, all the way <3 Your Dogs are absolutely beautiful!

  • @oreoswirl7 my malamute LOVES other dogs, but I also started socializing her at 7 weeks old. She has one of those personalities where she has never met a stranger in her life, person or dog.

  • @16Jevk Wow, that's really great. Malamutes are typically same-sex aggressive. What that means is that males tend to view other males as a threat to their place in the pack hierarchy (similarly females with other females) and can become aggressive. If a malamute is neutered/spayed before sexual maturity, and is also well socialized and trained, these traits can be less dominant in the dog. You do, however, get the odd exception to the rule who loves all dogs, and it seems that your dog is it!

  • @sillyrabbit313 - I started socializing Zoey there at 7 weeks old when she came home. However, since turning 6 years old this year, she has firmly decided female dogs are absolutely not ok to be around. She used to be tolerable around other female and male dogs. Now I must watch her very close even with males. This is a hard-tempered breed that is not for everyone, and if you like being social with lots of other dogs, select a different breed. Their same-sex aggression is no joke.

  • clash of the titans

  • yyy...po pierwsze to nie alaskan malamute tylko husky, gdzie ci on przypomina alaskan malamute?

  • I think the malamute is big or the St. B. tiny..

  • THIS IS MY DREAM!

  • For all the idiots, let me be brief.. ALL dogs need alot of attention, and ALL dogs will be a teror to adults, children, other animals, and your belongings if you don't raise them well. It's not ''JUST'' malamuts, it's not ''JUST'' boxers, or any other breed. It's all of them. ._.

  • @MUSIC200756

    B******S

  • White Fang versus Beethoven. Battle BEGIN!

  • As for the Alaskian Malamute These dogs are very friendly, loyal , dedicated homedog

But the malamute sometimes dislike other dogs And will attack it if you dont hold him on the leash

    Alaskian Malamute List

4 times a day walking with the dog

3 times a day giving food

    1 time a day grooming

Need lot of space just like the Husky

  • The siberian Husky is very intelligent and friendly with lot of energy and stamina its a very friendly breed but he also needs a lot of space so if you have a big garden then you can buy Siberian Husky but a Husky Costs lot of money and time

    Siberian Husky list

4 times a day walking with the dog

3 times a day giving food

    2 times a day grooming

And if you dont have a big garden don't

    Even think buying a husky

  • I want a Husky SO BAD but there is one thing I don't really know the difference in.

Between a Malamute and a Siberian Husky, what's the difference? The only thing I can really tell is maybe that Malamutes have somewhat longer hair. If anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it :)

  • @175K10K175 The main difference is that malamutes are larger. Apart from that, they are similar breeds with similar backgrounds. For more info on each breed go here: dogbreedinfo .dot. com

  • @175K10K175 Malamutes are taller, broader, & heavier. Almost all Malamutes will have brown eyes, whereas some believe a true Siberian Husky will only have blue eyes or 1 brown/1blue. Both dogs are VERY friendly w/children but both need a lot of space. They love to run & will leave your yard to run. Most grown huskies will weigh about 40-80lbs whereas Malamutes can approach or exceed 100lbs. In dogsledding, Malamutes are used for power & Huskies are used for speed. I've owned Huskies all my life

  • @rmx01indiana Nice, I want a Husky, I got a 3 acre yard and it could run all day. Haha biggest dog I've ever owned was a lab but that was when I was a little kid lol.

  • @rmx01indiana that is not true, its actually the other way around. saints are bigger, heavier, and taller

  • @yousufm88 I think he was comparing Alaskan Malamutes to Siberian Huskies.

  • @gombagod oh lol i just checked that x_x this is awks

  • @yousufm88 -wags finger- lol

  • i cant belive someone has 2 best dogs great job :)

  • I want to dog-nap that malamute

  • i know huskys look more firece than the saint bernard but dont mess with saint bernard. Ever since i saw the movie Cujo...holy shit

  • These dogs are freaking gorgeous. <3

  • Clash of the Titans, dog version

  • Thank you for the kind words. I do not have a lot of money nor a fabulous job. Both dogs eat less than one would think; 3 and 2.5 cups of food a day, that is all. I only have 1 Malamute, and 1 Saint Bernard. They do not cost me a lot but nor do they go without. Only the best for my girls.

  • @Saintandmalmom they cost much?? really!

  • @Saintandmalmom both lovely dogs

  • @Saintandmalmom

We need more pet owners like you.....you're the shit !!

  • Big dogs forever! Who needs these ridiculous designer purse puppies people seem to be into so much now? I'll take big, tough and fluffy over small, yappy and annoying any day!

  • @ShistaMista666 no its an alaskan wolf breed of dog.

  • @nomax345 Wrong!.

  • @nomax345 Very wrong.

  • Cool it's like Cujo vs Balto lol

  • @Carlton007

Balto would kick Cujo's butt all the way back to the Alps

    : p

  • @ShistaMista666 I encourage you to read up on the AKC standards for both Huskies and Malamutes. You are confusing two very distinct and different breeds in conformation.

  • @ShistaMista666 It is a female. Many Malamutes are this dark color, it's called Seal and is accepted in the standard, it's quite common actually. She is not darker than the standard breed, the standard allows for this color among many others. The reds are less common. Thick torso is characteristic of Malamutes, not Huskies. Huskies are smaller by far than Mals. Her fur is the correct length, fluffies are actually not able to be shown, it is a disqualification according to the AKC standard.

  • many old (5+) rehome mals just lie on the sofa and sleep most of the days kukukluku go and find a nice one to rehome but one is never enough!!! im on my 7th

  • @clintonsturm05 these sled breeds seem to be very pack and breed oriented anyway, we have a husky as well as two mutts and we foster huskies too, he got along well with the mix breeds but would always bond with the other huskies and seemed to pine for them after they got re-homed. so we had to get him another permanant husky to hang around with!

  • @ShistaMista666 yeah to be honest my knowledge of such details are very minimal. but thanks for sharing your bit now I know more!

  • @ShistaMista666not sure but malamutes are not related to huskies even though they look similar.

  • i think the st bernard is stronger

  • @ShistaMista666

well i've got a pure bred and to be completely honest it seems a bit more thick than the going breed i've ever been around.

I'm not talking down to your dog so don't get all defensive, it's still cute as shit either way.

  • @HeidiSurette24 Not every st bernard is that big.

  • i have a malamute mixed with a wolf

  • @HeidiSurette24 yeah i noticed that too! it looks small maybe is the video angle

  • clash of the titans

  • @ShistaMista666 - Say it with me..."Alaskan Mal-a-mute..."

  • @Saintandmalmom You just gotta love stupidity XD

  • @Saintandmalmom lol made my afternoon

  • @Saintandmalmom why bother repeating it. some people are stubborn. great duo you got there with the saint bernard and malamutes. both gentle giants imo. the saint bernard is awesome but sometimes hard to motivate and can be a couch potato at times but they are truely wonderful. anyways you must have a lot of money. you have the malamutes and Saint Bernard. the saint bernard probably eats more than your malamute does it ? whatever your job is. i might want it. cause i can't get a job.

  • @Saintandmalmom "ma-la-mu-te not pronounced mute as in a mute idiot...

  • out of the dogs I have owned, I actually find the Malamute the easiest to Train. I have had a Lab and a Pitbull, and the Malamute was the best. Very loving, and fast learners. Ive had 2 of them.

  • jajajaja...great vid!..i had a siberian husky...he died few months ago :`( at the age of 14 human years...now i have a saint bernard

  • No reason you couldn't a husky or malamute in an apartment. As long as they get exercised, they are fine.

  • lol cute. I think having 2 dogs is great, because they can never be bored and always have company.

  • Man tha alaskan malamute is huge I want one

  • time for a game of tug doggies!

  • omg, the malamute is so cool

  • malamute is so awesome looking.

  • classic dog game

  • omg i luv malamutes and bernards!! did u get the name dolly from that beethoven movie(i rember liking those movies when i was little!)

  • @brittyizawesome Yes I did!

  • @Saintandmalmom Awww thats cool. im jealous u have awesome dogs lol

  • i want to get both of these dogs i have a husky right now but i want a st bernard and an alaskan malamute there both very beautiful and big i love big dogs :D

  • i thought bernards where way bigger compared to malumutes

  • Eventhough this is a very poor quality st. bernard, malamutes are very big dogs and very strong, but yes st. bernard are more massive dogs if you get a high quality dog.

  • i dont really care about th e quality of a dog im not looking to breed or enter them in a show i just always thought bernards were interesting i dont care if i get a one eyed 2 legged lab that is bling as lons as he or she has a good personallity

  • They are!

  • both those dogs r females if u look at the names so females r generally smaller then the males. thats why they r so close in size. a full grown healthy male st is huge

  • I am looking to get a St. Bernard. They look they they are very loving and kind to children. The problem is, what if there is no one at home? I have to go to work 8 AM - 5PM, will the be ok all by themselves alone?

    Thank you very much.

  • i would really like a Malamute and have a couple of questions for you.

is there anyway possible to train it as a guard dog

does it howl at night and keep you awake

does it get fur all over the place, if so is there anyway of preventing the fur from getting everywhere, such as combing him often

are they affectionate, will he sit on the couch with you and watch tv or even sleep at the foot of your bed

how hard was he to train

i would really appreciate a response to these questions thank you

  • No, Malamutes are in NO way guard dogs. They cannot be TRAINED to be guard dogs either. They love everyone. Find a different breed for that. Try German Shepherds.

No, she does not howl all night.

Yes, she gets fur everywhere. Grooming is necessary but they will still shed. Everywhere. All year round. They blow coat 2x a year. It's intense shedding then. If you can't handle shedding, this isn't the breed for you.

Very affectionate, annoyingly so. Buggy, constantly wanting attention.

  • Yes, she was hard to train. Wanted to do all the commands her way, not mine. Took my 3 months of weekly training to get a CGC on her. But it was worth it.

I don't think this sounds like the breed for you. Do more research.

  • are malamutes bigger than labradors and germanshperds

  • Malamutes are definitely bigger than labs. The ideal Malamute is similar in size to the ideal German Shepherd. Their weights should be around 80-90 lbs (males) and 65-75 lbs (females).

  • Male Alaskan Malamute are between 85-95 pounds ideally, females between 75-85. They are more squarely solidly built than German Shepherds and much bigger than a standard Labrador.

Zoey weighs 105 pounds at a healthy weight. She is considered a giant Malamute.

  • Yes, that's quite big for a Malamute, especially if it's a female.

  • you're so lucky. these are my two favorite dog breeds! but i can't even get one - i live in a apartment. not so good for such large dogs. especially malamutes...

  • Saints would do quite well in an apartment actually. Their activity level is very low. A daily walk of about a mile or 2 would serve them fine.

  • such beauty

  • Yeesh...how big are those guys...they look 200lbs maybe?

  • both beautiful dogs:)

    saint bernard was the strongest:P

do anybody know is the moscow watchdog is stronger than a saint bernard?

cuz i have one and i dont know:P

Iz looks exactly like the saint bernard only a differenc its not a lazy dog:P

  • A saint is probably stronger, world strenght record is a saint, pulled 2 tonnes.

  • thanks:)

  • wow I love your Alaskan Malamute shes beautiful

    whats your mals name?

  • They're both wonderful dogs!

  • "Give iiiiit!"

    "No, you give it!"

    "Grrr"

    "Grrr"

  • @RhondaCat thats one cute comment.

  • wow how big is the malamute she looks at least 30 inches and 120 lbs ?

  • Man ... Malamutes aren't small dogs, but Bernards ....

    Wow. BIG puppy. =3

  • d^^b

  • very good video

  • Cute couple. :)

  • m malamutes tomach turn over so we had to put her down.

  • how much does each one weigh both look massive

  • u lucky bastard those two of my fav breeds

  • sooooooo cuteee!! <3<3 I love Mal =)

  • its an Alaskan Malamute. they do resemble alot of a huskie but they are tougher to train and need alot more attention. they are pack dogs so they will need strickt teachers. you can see the difference between a huskie and a malamute by their size and muscles.

  • @CarpathiaS husky are hard to train, if malamute are worst I cant imagine it

  • very cute dogs!!! :)

I've always wanted an Alaskan Malamute they are beautiful dogs

  • omg those dogs are awesome

  • They are huge, but very cute. XDDD

  • How much does the Saint weigh compared with the Malamute?

  • ive heard that female malamutes blow their coats more often than males due to coming into season. does anyone know if this is true? thanks!!

  • pretty dogs!

  • Thank you!

  • *sides with malamute* :P

  • You're correct!

  • who usually wins?

  • My Mal, but just because my Saint lets go of it; she doesn't like to play long, lol!

  • how much do u feed them

  • Daily the Saint gets 4 cups of food; the Mal gets 3 cups of food

  • I have a tornjak dog , i live in scandinavia, he adaptet perfect on the new enviroment, he sveming in the see in februarri he jump like a tiger, i have not sen something like that before, super dog, He grown uppin Bosnian mountes with other dogs, And i dont have eny problems with him

  • husky is a smaller dog than a malamute right?

  • yes

  • I like your Dogs! : D

  • Very cute doggies! ^^ Alaskan Malamutes are my favorite breed and Saint Bernards are very cute.

  • thats not a siberian husky

  • yeah, not being funny but I think the poster might know what breed his own dog is better than you.

  • im pretty sure its alaskan malamute.

  • i like malamutes and st. bernards but personally I'm a husky kind of guy. But that would have been a heck of a tug of war, I couldn't tell which dog won.

  • i love the wolf-look of that malamute. very beautiful dog. and the st bernard is just so damn cute
